९-१. [ प्र. ] अयं णं भंते! जीवे चउसट्ठीए असुरकुमारावाससयसहस्सेसु एगमेगंसि असुरकुमारावासंसि पुढविक्काइयत्ताए जाव वणस्सइकाइयत्ताए देवत्ताए देवित्ताए आसणसयण-भंडमत्तोवगरणत्ताए उववन्नपुव्वे ?
[ उ. ] हंता, गोयमा ! जाव अनंतखुत्तो ।
९-१. [प्र.] भगवन्! क्या यह जीव, असुरकुमारों के चौसठ लाख असुरकुमारावासों में से
प्रत्येक असुरकुमारावास में पृथ्वीकायिक रूप में यावत् वनस्पतिकायिक रूप में, देव रूप में अथवा देवी रूप में अथवा आसन, शयन, भांड, पात्र आदि उपकरण रूप में पहले उत्पन्न हो चुका है ?
[उ.] हाँ, गौतम! यावत् अनेक बार या अनन्त बार (उत्पन्न हो चुका है।)
9-1. [Q.] Bhante ! Has this jiva (soul / living being) been born earlier
in each of the 6.4 million Asur-kumar abodes of Asur-kumar gods in earth
bodied form... and so on up to ... plant-bodied form or in the form of gods or goddesses or as seats, beds, utensils, vessels or other equipment ?
[Ans.] Yes, Gautam !... and so on up to ... ( it has been born thus) many times or infinite times.
९- २. [प्र. ] सव्वजीवा वि णं भंते!
[ उ ] एवं चेव ।
९-२. [प्र.] भगवन्! क्या सभी जीव (पूर्वोक्त रूप में उत्पन्न हो चुके हैं ? )
[उ.] हाँ गौतम! इसी प्रकार (पूर्वोक्त में बताए गए अनेक बार या अनन्त बार उत्पन्न हो चुके हैं।)
9-2. [Q.] Bhante ! Have all jivas (souls / living beings) been born earlier as aforesaid?
[Ans.] Yes, Gautam !... and so on up to ... ( it has been born thus) many times or infinite times.
१०. एवं जाव थणियकुमारेसु नाणत्तं आवासेसु आवासा पुव्वभणिया ।
