४१ [ प्र.] तेसि णं भंते! जीवाणं केवइयं कालं ठिई पन्नत्ता ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! जहन्नेणं अंतोमुहुत्तं, उक्कोसेणं दस वाससहस्साइं । [ दारं २९ ]। ४१ [प्र.] भगवन्! उन उत्पल के जीवों की स्थिति कितने काल की है ? [उ.] गौतम! उनकी स्थिति जघन्य अन्तर्मुहूर्त की और उत्कृष्ट दस हजार वर्ष की है।
41. [Q.] Bhante ! What is the span of existence of those living beings in Utpal ?
[Ans.] Gautam! The span of existence of those living beings in Utpal is a minimum of one Antarmuhurt and a maximum of ten thousand [- the twenty-ninth theme]
years.

४२ [प्र.] तेसि णं भंते! जीवाणं कइ समुग्धाया पन्नत्ता ?
[उ.] गोयमा ! तओ समुग्धाया पन्नत्ता, तं जहा - वेयणासमुग्धाए कसायसमुग्धाए मारणंतिय समुग्धाए । [ दारं ३० ] |
४२ [प्र.] भगवन्! उन ( उत्पल के) जीवों में कितने समुद्घात कहे गए हैं ?
[उ.] गौतम! उनमें तीन समुद्घात कहे गए हैं। यथा-वेदना समुद्घात, कषाय समुद्घात और मारणान्तिक समुद्घात ।
42. [Q.] Bhante! How many types of bursting-forth (samudghaat) are said to occur in those living beings in Utpal?
[Ans.] Gautam ! There are said to be three types of bursting-forth (samudghaat) that occur in them-bursting-forth of pain (vedana samudghaat), bursting forth of passions (kashaaya samudghaat), and fatal bursting-forth (maranaantik samudghaat ). [ -the thirteeth theme] ४३ [ प्र. ] ते णं भंते ! जीवा मारणंतियसमुग्धाएणं किं समोहया मरंति, असमोहया मरंति ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! समोहया वि मरंति, असमोहया वि मरति ।
४३ [प्र.] भगवन्! वे जीव मारणान्तिक समुद्घात द्वारा समवहत होकर मरते या असमवहत होकर ?
[उ.] गौतम! (वे उत्पल के जीव मारणान्तिक समुद्घात द्वारा ) समवहत होकर भी मरते हैं और असमवहत होकर भी मरते हैं।
