The incense made of black ochre, main roddle and gum-resin always keep burning in the residences, due to the burning of these incense these residences are full of fragrant elegancy. ५८७ - केवइया णं भंते! पुढविकाइयावासा पण्णत्ता ? गोयमा ! असंखेज्जा पुढविकाइया * वासा पण्णत्ता । एवं जाव मणुस्स त्ति ।
भगवन्! पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों के आवासों की संख्या कितनी कही गयी है?
गौतम! पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों के आवासों की संख्या असंख्यात कही गई है। इसी प्रकार जलकायिक * जीवों से लेकर यावत् - मनुष्यों तक के आवासों की संख्या जाननी चाहिए।
O Lord ! the residencies of earth-bodied beings ( Prithvikaya Jeeva ) are mentioned. How many number of these residences have been said? Prithvakayajeevas have been said innumerable (Asankhyat). Thus, the number of the residencies of water-bodies beings to human beings should be known innumerable.
५८८-केवइया णं भंते वाणमंतरावासा पण्णत्ता ? गोयमा ! इमीसे णं रयणप्पभाए पुढवीए रयणामयस्स कंडस्स-जोयणसहस्स- बाहल्लस्स उवरिं एगं जोयणसयं ओगाहेत्ता हेट्ठ चेगं जोयणसयं वज्जेत्ता मज्झे अट्ठसु जोयणसएसु एत्थ णं वाणमंतराणं देवाणं तिरियमसंखेज्जा भोमेज्जा नगरावाससयसहस्सा पण्णत्ता । ते णं भोमेजा नगरा बाहिं वट्टा अंतो चउरंसा । एवं जहा भवणवासीणं तहेव णेयव्वा । णवरं पडागमालाउला सुरम्मा पासाईया दरिसणिज्जा अभिरूवा पडिरूवा ।
भगवन्! वाणव्यन्तरों के आवासों की संख्या कितनी कही गई है?
गौतम! रत्नप्रभा पृथ्वी के एक हजार योजन मोटा रत्नमय कांड है जिसके एक सौ योजन ऊपर
