शलाकापुरुष एवं कालचक्र
उत्सर्पिणी के छह और अवसर्पिणी के छह - ऐसे कुल बारह आरक से एक कालचक्र बनता है। प्रत्येक उत्सर्पिणी और अवसर्पिणी में 63-63 शलाका पुरुष होते हैं। इनमें 24 तीर्थंकर, 11 चक्रवर्ती, 9 बलदेव, 9 वासुदेव और 9 प्रतिवासुदेव होते हैं।
The six Ara (spokes) of descending time cycle (Avasarpini Kaal) and six Ara (spokes) of Ascending time cycle (Utsarpini Kaal) as such twelve spokes make a full time cycle. In each time cycle i.e. Avasarpini Kaal and Utsarpini Kaal 63 great personalities take birth-24 (Tirthankar) Ford-makers, 12 Supreme lords (Chakravarti), 9 Vasudeva (lords ), 9 Baldeva (co-lords), 9 Prati Vasudeva (Anti-lords).
