________________ ccii Śrāvakabhumi usually enumerated in other Pali and Mahāyāna Buddhist texts; under the head navākārā chittasthiti comprising the discussion regarding-yogi adhyatmam eva cittaṁ : (i) sthāpayati, (ii) samsthāpayati, (iii) avasthāpayati (iv) upasthāpayati, (v) damayati, (vi) samayati, (vii) vyupaśamayati, (viii) ekotikaroti, and (ix) samadhatte, has been vividly elucidated. : The six balas (strength) have been stated as the factors leading to the acquisition of 'navākārā cittasthiti'. These are: (i) śruta-learning or listening to the right moral instructions of the Venerable Master, (ii) cinta-proper thought, (iii) smrti or mindfulness of kuśala, samādhisthāniya dharmas, (iv) samprajanya or a comprehensive knowledge of the same, (v) virya or perseverence and resolution, and (vi) paricaya or familiarity with the kusala citta dharmas, the contemplation of which leads to the acquisition of samadhi. In this connection, the four manaskāras have also been enumerated-balavahana, sacchidravahana, niśchidravāhana and anābhogavāhana,
