[ 21 ] disciple of Sasana Samrat Acharya Maharaj Sri. Vijaya-Nemi Surisvaraji Maharaj. How well Pannyasaji Sri Dhurandhar Vijay Ganivarya has carried on, and contributed to the Jain holy tradition of high scholarship can to some extent be gauged by the very large number of books written by him, both in Sanskrita and in Gujarati. His work* comprise philosophical and religious treatises, Akh. yanas in prose and verse, Poems, a Drama, Stotras, lives of holy men and women, grammatical treatises, commentaries, Sermons etc. These are in all 56, out of which about 40 are in Sanskrita
I had the opportunity of meeting the learned Muni Maharaj Sri on the occasion of the formal publication of the first part of his versified commentary सिद्धहेमचन्द्र-शब्दानुशासनम्. His mastery of grammar has now bloomed forth into this aan faara: which though composed with the main object of presenting to readers some Sutras of Hemachandracharya concealed in the sense or in the words of metrical stanzas, occasionally rises to the height of poetry, as in the following verses :- यन्मूर्विर्जनतामनोनयनहत् , सलक्षणैर्लक्षिता,
यद्वाणी मधुरा सुधाधरकरी, स्पष्टा विशिष्टाक्षरा ।
