THE VIRTUE OF NOT CONTENDING
The brave soldier is not violent; The good fighter does not lose his temper; The great conqueror does not fight (on small issues); The good user of men places himself below others. - This is the virtue of not-contending, Is called the capacity to use men, Is reaching to the height of being, Mated to Heaven, to what was of old.

अधार्थ का सदगुण
वीर अँनिक ठिंसक नहीं होता है, अच्छा लड़ाका क्रोध नहीं करता है, बड़ा विजेता छोटी बातों के लिए नहीं लड़ता है, मनुष्यों का अच्छा प्रयोक्ता अपने को दूसरों के नीचे रखता है। - असंघर्ष का यही सदगुण है। इसे ही मनुष्यों को प्रयोग करने की क्षमता कहते हैं, यही हैं अस्तित्व की ऊंचाई को छूना, जो स्वर्ग का सरखा है, पुरातन का भी।
