THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE STATE
Who is firmly established is not easily shaken. Who has a firm grasp does not easily let go. From generation to generation his ancestral sacrifices shall be continued without fail. Cultivated in the individual, character will become genuine; Cultivated in the family, character will become abundant; Cultivated in the village, character will multiply; Cultivated in the state, character will prosper, Cultivated in the world, character will become universal. Therefore: According to the character of) the individual, judge the individual; According to the character of) the family, judge the family; According to the character of) the village, judge the village; According to the character of) the state, judge the state; According to the character of) the world, judge the world. व्याक्ति और राज्य
जो दृढ़ता से स्थापित है, उसे आसानी से डिगाया नहीं जा सकता। जिसकी पकड़ पक्की है, वह आसानी से छोड़ता नहीं है। पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी उसके पूर्वजों के त्याग अबाध रूप से जारी रखेंगे। व्यक्ति में उसके पालन से, चरित्र प्रामाणिक ठोगा, परिवार में उसके पालन से, चरित्र अतिशय होगा, गांव में उसके पालन से, चरित्र बहुगुणित होगा, राज्य में उसके पालन से, चरित्र समृद्ध ठोगा, संसार में उसके पालन से, चरित्र सार्वभौम बनेगा। इसलिए: व्यक्ति के चरित्र के अनुसार, व्यक्ति को परखो, परिवार के चरित्र के अनुसार, परिवार को परखो, गांव के चरित्र के अनुसार, गांव को पररवो, राज्य के चरित्र के अनुसार, राज्य को परनवो, संसार के चरित्र के अनुसार, संसार को परखो। मैं कैसे जानता हूं कि संसार ऐसा है? इसके द्वारा।
