Chapter 36
THE RHYTHM OF LIFE
He who is to be made to dwindle (in power) Must first be caused to expand. He who is to be weakened
Must first be made strong. He who is to be laid low Must first be exalted to power. Ho who is to be taken away from Must first be given. -This is the Subtle Light. Gentleness overcomes strength: Fish should be left in the deep pool, And sharp weapons of the state should be left Where none can see them.
अध्याय 36
जीवन की लय
सत्ता से जिसे गिराना है,
पहले उसे फैलाव देना पड़ता हैं।
जिसे दुर्बल करना है,
पहले उसे बलवान बनाना होता हैं।
जिसे नीचे गिराना है,
पहले उसे शिखरस्थ करना होता हैं।
जिससे छीन लेना है,
पहले उसे दे देना होता हैं।
यही सूक्ष्म प्रकाश या दृष्टि हैं।
शक्ति पर भद्रता की विजय होती हैं:
मछली को गहरे पानी में ही रहने देना चाहिए,
और राज्य के तेज हथियारों को
वहां रखना चाहिए जहां उन्हें कोई देख न पाए।
