देवतामूर्ति-प्रकरणम् श्वेत वर्ण वाले दश घोड़ों के रथ में बैठा शुभ होता है। दाहिने हाथ में विशाल पेट वाली गदा को धारण करने वाला और बाँया हाथ वरदमुद्रा वाला ऐसा चन्द्रमा का स्वरूप बनावे।
___Moon-Chandra, the Moon god, is white in colour and wears white clothes. Riding, resplendently elevated, on a chariot pulled by ten white horses (47), the two armed Chandra holds a mace with a large rounded belly in his right hand. His left hand is in the varad-mudra or conventional position for bestowing blessings. This is the manner in which Shashank, the Moon, should be portrayed. Such is Chandrama. (48).
मंगल
धरापुत्रस्य वक्ष्यामि लक्षणं चित्रकर्मणि। चतुर्भुजो मेषगमश्चाङ्गारसदृशद्युतिः ॥४९ ॥ दक्षिणं बुनगं हस्तं वरदं परिकल्पयेत् । ऊर्ध्वं शक्तिसमायुक्तं वामौ शूलगदाधरौ ॥५०॥
चित्रकर्म में मंगल का लक्षण कहता हूँ। चार भुजा वाला, मेंडे की सवारी करने वाला, अङ्गारे के जैसी कान्ति वाला, नीचे के दाहिने हाथ में वरदमुद्रा और ऊपर के दाहिने हाथ में शक्ति को तथा बाँयें हाथ में त्रिशूल और गदा को धारण करने वाला मंगल है।
i Mangal – Let me now tell you about the attributes of Mars, the Dharaputra, son of Earth, Mangal, for purposes of depicting him. The four armed Mangal has a ram as his mount, and is full of lustre to behold, being bright and radiant like the sparks of a fire (49). His lower right hand is in the mode for blessing, and his upper right hand bear the Shakti weapon, while his two left hands hold a trident and a mace. (50).
