समुप्पण्णसड्ढे समुप्पण्णसंसए समुप्पण्णकोऊहल्ले उठाए उट्ठेइ उठाए उट्ठित्ता जेणेव समणे भगवं महावीरे तेणेव उवागच्छर उवागच्छित्ता समणं भगवं महावीरं तिक्खुतो आयाहिणक्याहिण करेइ वंदइ णमंसइ वंदित्ता णमंसित्ता णच्वासणे णाइहरे सुमरणे नमसमाणे अभिमुहे विएणं पंजलिउडे पज्जुवासमाणे एवं वयासी ।
Such Gautama, with his reverence, doubt and curiosity / enquiry enkindled 14, stood up at the place where he was seated, advanced towards Mahavira, encircled him thrice from the right-hand side and bowed his head15, resumed his seat neither very near nor very far. With a submissive mood to listen the master's words, paying obeisance, facing the master, with due humility16 and with folded palms, adoring the master, he made the following submission:

प्रश्न १ - से णूण भंते! चलमाणे चलिए उदीरिज्जमाणे उदीरिए वेइज्जमाणे वेइए पहिज्जमाणे पहीणे छिज्जमाणे छिण्णे भिज्जमाणे भिण्णे डज्झमाणे दड्ढे मिज्जमा मडे णिज्जरिज्जमाणे णिज्जिणे ?
उत्तर १ - हंता गोयमा ! चलमाणे चलिए जाव णिज्जरिज्जमाणे णिज्जिणे |
Q. 1. Thus verily, Bhante 18 is it proper to call moving as 1 moved, fructifying as fructified, feeling as felt, separating as separated, cutting as cut, piercing as pierced, burning as burnt, dying as dead, and exhausting as exhausted19 ?
A. 1. Yes, Gautama, it is so; moving is moved and so on till exhausting is exhausted20.

प्रश्न २ - एए णं भंते ! व पया कि एगट्ठा णाणावोसा णाणावंजणा उदाहु णाणट्ठा णाणाघोसा णाणावंजणा ?
उत्तर २-गोयमा ! चलमाणे चलिए उद्दीरिज्जनाणे उदीरिए वेइज्जमाणे वेइए पहिज्जमाणे पहीणे एए णं चत्तारि पया एगा णाणाघोसा णाणावंजणा
