The rules of deep breathing, however, if followed out, will make a person physically healthy. Dress is one of the things which should be taken into consideration in this connection. I think that some evil-minded person centuries ago, must have designed that thing called the corset for the purpose of depraving the human race, Even those who have studied the laws of health still wear this, in various forms, Those who wish to observe the reles of breathing must first of all throw the corset altogether aside, and unless this is done the person ought not to practise the rules of breathing at all. That is one reason why that among ladies we find the chest and not the deep breathing. There may be peculiar reasons fashionable indeed, for adopting the dress, but people should know the evil effects of such an act. If any part of the body is compressed so much that the breath should not have any influence on that part, the effect must be only evil. Even the feet should not be incased in tight shoes. In all these things some part of the body is strengthened at the expense of the others. The advantages of the true system of breathing are many indeed. Physically one who breathes correctly becomes pure; those who
