râja ). was the patron of Lakshmîdhara. He flourished in the middle of the sixteenth century; * and this consequently is the date of Lakshmîdhara.
Lakshmîdhara has based his work upon that of Trivikrama and both are quoted in the Ratnâpana by Kumârasvâmin, son of Mallinâtha. Mallinâtha flourished in the sixteenth cen. tury; for one of his verses occurs in an inscription of A. D. 1532.+ This makes Lakshmidhara a contemporary of Mallinatha.
Lakshmîdhara's name occurs in the introductory verses of the Prâkritamanidîpikâ of Chinabommabhûpâla, along with those of Trivikrama, Hemachandra, Bhojat, Vararuchi, Pushpavananátha, and Appayajvan whose works seem to have been compressed in it. S

8 सूक्ष्मार्थ ग्राहयतां मन्दानपि नाटकं मृदूपायः।
तस्यापि जीवितमिदं प्राकृतमप्राकृतेन यन्मिश्रम् ।। ये त्रिविक्रमदवेन हेमचन्द्रेण चेरिताः । लक्ष्मीधरेण ये ग्रन्था भोजेन च महीक्षिता ।। ये पुष्पवननाथेन ये वा वाररुचा अपि । बार्तिकार्णवभाष्याद्या अप्पयज्वकृताश्च ये ।। ते विस्तृतत्वात् प्रायेण संक्षेपरुचिभिर्जनैः । अगृहीता विलम्बन्ते संध्या किरणा इव ।। अतः प्राकृतशब्दानामन्धे तमसि मजताम् ।
