His treatment of Kavya-dosas clearly reveals his considerable indebtedness to Mammata63 who treats of the Dosas in his Kavyaprakasa (Ullasa VII). Mammata has utilised earlier writers on this topic and added new Dosas which he himself has discovered. Vijayavarni follows Mammata's classification of Dosas in toto.
