Hemacandra's long passage is made up of passages borrowed from Vyaktiviveka and Vakroktijivita. Somesvara's short passage appears to have been adopted from Hemacandra. The two passages numbered 37 contain one very significant detail. Hemacandra illustrates द्रव्येण उपमानोपमेययोर्भेदः by तीर्थकर इव गणधरः पूज्यः / Somesvara's illustration reads : शिव इव केशवः पूज्यः / These two examples are in conformity with the respective creed of the two authors. Barring these examples, the two passages are nearly, identical. This fact indicates that the passage with a suitable change has been lifted by one from the other. www.jainelibrary.org For Private & Personal Use Only Jain Education International
