पद्मपुराण
श्रत्वेमा प्रतिबोधदानकुशलां चित्रस्वभावान्विता
सत्प्रीतिङ्करसंयतस्य चरितप्रोत्कीर्तनीयां कथाम् । सर्वैः खेचरपुङ्गवैरभिहिते साधूदितं साध्विति
भ्रष्टः शुक्तिमिराद्विभीषणरविर्लोकोत्तराचारवित् ॥७२॥
इत्याचे रविषेणाचार्यप्रोक्ते पद्मपुराणे पद्मायने प्रीतिकरोपाख्यानं नाम सप्तसप्ततितमं पर्व ॥७७॥
शूरवीर, दृढ़ निश्चयी एवं कर्मोदयके कारण युद्ध में नारायणके द्वारा सम्मुख मारे हुए प्रधान पुरुष रावणके प्रति शोक कर रहा है। अब तो अपने कार्यमें चित्त देओ इस शोकसे क्या प्रयोजन है? इस प्रकार प्रतिबोधके देने में कुशल, नाना स्वभावसे सहित, एवं प्रीतिङ्कर मुनिराजके चरितको निरूपण करनेवाली कथा सुनकर सब विद्याधर राजाओंने ठीक ठीक यह शब्द कहे और लोकोत्तर-सर्वश्रेष्ठ आचारको जाननेवाला विभीषण रूपी सूर्य शोकरूपी अन्धकारसे छूट गया अर्थात् विभीषणका शोक दूर हो गया ॥७१-७२।।
इस प्रकार आर्ष नामसे प्रसिद्ध, रविषेणाचार्य द्वारा कथित पद्मपुराण या पद्मायन नामक
ग्रन्थमें प्रीतिङ्करका उपाख्यान करनेवाला सतहत्तरवाँ पर्व समाप्त हुआ |७||
