शिरोग्राहसहस्रोग्रस्तुंगबाहुतरंगभृत् । अवर्द्धत महाभीमो राक्षसाधिपसागरः ॥२८॥ बाहुसौदामिनीदण्डप्रचण्डो घोरनिस्वनः । शिरःशिखरसंघातैर्ववृधे रावणाम्बुदः ॥२६।। बाहुमस्तकसंघनिःस्वनच्छत्रभूषणः । महासैन्यसमानोऽभूदेकोऽपि त्रिककुप्पतिः ॥३०॥ पुराऽनेकेन युद्धोऽहमधुनैकाकिनाऽमुना । युद्धे कथमितीवायं लचमणेन बहूकृतः ॥३१॥ रत्नशस्त्रांशुसंघातकरजालप्रदीपितः । सञ्जातो राक्षसाधीशो दह्यमानवनोपमः ॥३२॥ चक्रेषुशक्तिकुन्तादिशस्त्रवर्षेण रावणः । सक्तश्छादयितुं बाहुसहस्रैरपि लचमणम् ॥३३॥ लक्ष्मणोऽपि परं क्रुद्धो विषादपरिवर्जितः । अर्कतुण्डैः शरैः शत्रु प्रच्छादयितुमुद्यतः ॥३१॥ एक द्वे त्रीणि चत्वारि पञ्च षड दश विंशतिः । शतं सहस्रमयुतं चिच्छेदारिशिरांसि सः ॥३५॥ शिरःसहस्रसंछन्नं पतद्भिः सह बाहभिः । सोल्कादण्डं पतज्ज्योतिश्चक्रमासीदिवाम्बरम् ॥३६॥ सबाहुमस्तकच्छना रणक्षोणी निरन्तरम् । सनागभोगराजीवखण्डशोभामधारयत् ॥३७॥ समुत्पन्नं समुत्पन्नं शिरोबाहुकदम्बकम् । रक्षसो लचमणोच्छित्तकर्मेव मुनिपुङ्गवः ॥३॥ गलद्रुधिरधाराभिः सन्तताभिः समाकुलम् । वियत्सन्ध्याविनिर्माणं समुद्भूतमिवापरम् ॥३६॥ असंख्यातभुजः शत्रुलंचमणेन द्विबाहुना । महानुभावयुक्तेन कृतो निष्फलविग्रहः ।।४।। निरुच्छासाननः स्वेदबिन्दुजालचिताननः । सत्त्ववानाकुलस्वांगः संवृत्तो रावणः क्षणम् ॥४१॥ तावच्छ्रेणिक निवृत्ते तस्मिन्संख्येऽतिरोरवे । स्वभावावस्थितो भूत्वा रावणः क्रोधदीपितः ॥४२॥
जो शिररूपी हजारों मगरमच्छोंसे भयंकर था तथा भुजाओं रूपी ऊँची-ऊँची तरङ्गोंको धारण करता था ऐसा रावणरूपी महाभयंकर सागर उत्तरोत्तर बढ़ता जाता था ॥२८॥ अथवा जो भुजारूपी विद्युद् दण्डोंसे प्रचण्ड था और भयंकर शब्द कर रहा था ऐसा रावणरूपी मेघ शिररूपी शिखरोंके समूहसे बढ़ता जाता था ॥२६॥ भुजाओं और मस्तकोंके संघटनसे जिसके छत्र तथा आभूषण शब्द कर रहे थे ऐसा रावण एक होने पर भी महासेनाके समान जान पड़ता था ॥३०॥ 'मैंने पहले अनेकोंके साथ युद्ध किया है अब इस अकेलेके साथ क्या करूँ' यह सोच कर ही मानो लक्ष्मणने उसे अनेक रूप कर लिया था ॥३१।। आभूषणोंके रत्न तथा शस्त्र समूह की किरणोंको देदीप्यमान रावण जलते हुए बनके समान हो गया था ॥३२।। रावण अपनी हजारों भुजाओंके द्वारा चक्र, बाण, शक्ति तथा भाले आदि शस्त्रोंकी वर्षासे लक्ष्मणको आच्छादित करने में लगा था ॥३३।। और क्रोधसे भरे तथा विवादसे रहित लक्ष्मण भी सूर्यमुखी बाणों से शत्रुको आच्छादित करनेमें झुके हुए थे ॥३४॥ उन्होंने शत्रुके एक, दो, तीन, चार, पाँच, छह, दश, बीस, सौ, हजार तथा दश हजार शिर काट डाले ।।३५।। हजारों शिरोंसे व्याप्त तथा पड़ती हुई भुजाओंसे युक्त आकाश, उस समय ऐसा हो गया था मानो उल्कादण्डोंसे युक्त तथा जिसमें तारा मण्डल गिर रहा है ऐसा हो गया था ॥३६।। उस समय भुजाओं और मस्तकसे निरन्तर आच्छादित युद्धभूमि सर्पो के फणासे युक्त कमल समूहकी शोभा धारण कर रही थी ॥३७॥ उसके शिर और भजाओंका समह जैसा जैसा उत्पन्न होता जाता था लक्ष्मण वैसा वैसा ही उसे उस प्रकार काटता जाता था जिस प्रकार कि मुनिराज नये नये बँधते हुए कर्माको काटते जाते हैं ॥३८॥ निकलते हुए रुधिरकी लम्बी चौड़ी धाराओंसे व्याप्त आकाश ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो जिसमें संध्याका निर्माण हुआ है ऐसा दूसरा ही आकाश उत्पन्न हुआ हो ॥३६॥ गौतम स्वामी कहते हैं कि देखो, महानुभावसे युक्त द्विवाहु लक्ष्मणने असंख्यात भुजाओंके धारक रावण को निष्फल शरीरका धारक कर दिया ॥४०॥ देखो, पराक्रमी रायण क्षण भरमें क्यासे क्या हो गया ? उसके मुखसे श्वास निकलना बंद हो गया, उसका मुख पसीनाको बू'दोंके समूहसे व्याप्त हो गया और उसका समस्त शरीर आकल-व्याकुल हो गया ॥४॥ हे श्रेणिक ! जब तक वह
