In the Padma Purana: The warriors mounted on the backs of horses, holding spears, lances, and shields in their hands, and their chests covered with armor, entered the battlefield. \\42\\ They covered each other, competed with each other, conquered each other, were defeated by each other, were killed, and made the sound of war. \\43\\ Some fiery horses were wandering around in confusion, and somewhere a fierce battle with fists and maces had erupted. \\44\\ Some had their chests wounded by swords, some were struck by arrows, and some were hit by spears, and they were attacking the enemy in the same way. \\45\\ Some were constantly pampered and engaged in fulfilling their desired objectives. Their senses were being liberated like unfaithful friends leaving them. \\46\\ Some had their intestines hanging out, unable to bear the severe pain, and they were falling down along with the enemy, their lips bitten by their teeth. \\47\\ Those who were once playful on the palace roofs, loved by beautiful women, they were now lying on the battlefield, their bodies cut by discuses and gold, \\48\\ and being eaten by vultures and jackals, their forms distorted. \\49\\ Like a loving woman approaching her sleeping husband with the intention of scratching him with her nails, a jackal was approaching a fallen warrior on the battlefield. \\50\\ Seeing his movement, she became confused, thinking he was alive, and retreated in fear, just as a sorceress's female demon flees from a mantra practitioner. \\51\\ Recognizing the brave warrior as alive, a bird slowly moved away, apprehensive, like an unchaste woman who, seeing her husband alive, retreats with trembling eyes. \\52\\ The nature of auspicious and inauspicious deeds of the beings was manifested there through victory and defeat. \\53\\ Some, by the power of their good deeds, conquered many, while many who had committed sins earlier also faced defeat. \\54\\ Mingled with envy, which they had earned earlier, they were victorious, defeated, and met their end there. \\55\\
