पचपुराणे
आशीविषफणा भीमान् कामान् शङ्कासुकानलम् । हेतून् परमदुःखस्य वाम्छामो दूरमुग्मितुम् ॥५॥ नास्य माता पिता भ्राता बान्धवाः सुहृदोऽपि वा। सहायाः कर्मतन्त्रस्य परित्राणं शरीरिणः ॥५८॥ तात विमस्तवाऽस्मासु वात्सल्यमुपमोज्झितम् । मातृणां च परं खेतद्वन्धनं भववासिमाम् ॥५॥ किं तर्हि सुचिरं सौख्यं भवद्वात्सल्यसंभवम् । भुक्त्वाऽपि विरहोऽवश्यं प्राप्यः क्रकचदारुणः ॥६॥ भतृप्त एव भोगेषु जीवो दुर्मित्रविभ्रमः । इमं विमोचयते देहं किं प्राप्तं जायते तदा ॥६॥ ततो लक्ष्मीधरोऽवोचत्परमस्नेहविह्वलः । माघ्राय मस्तके पुत्रानभीचय च पुनः पुनः॥१२॥ एते कैलासशिखरप्रतिमा हेमरत्नजाः । प्रासादाः कनकस्तम्भसहस्त्रपरिशोभिताः नानाकुट्टिमभूभागाश्चारुनिव्यूहसङ्गताः । सुसेव्या विमलाः कान्ताः सर्वोपकरणान्विताः ॥१४॥ मलयाचलसद्गन्धमारुताकृष्टषट्पदाः । स्नानादिविधिसम्पत्तियोग्यनिमलभूमयः ॥६५॥ शरच्चन्द्रप्रभा गौराः सुरस्त्रीसमयोषितः । गुणैः समाहिताः सः कल्पप्रासादसलिभाः॥६६॥ वीणावेणुमृदङ्गादिसङ्गीतकमनोहराः। जिनेन्द्रचरितासक्तकथात्यन्तपवित्रिताः ॥१७॥ उषित्वा सुखमेतेषु रमणीयेषु वत्सकाः । प्रतिपद्य कथं दीक्षां वत्स्यथान्तवनाचलम् ॥६८।। ६सञ्चचय स्नेहनिघ्नं मां शोकतप्तां च मातरम् । न युक्तं वत्सका गन्तुं सेव्यतां तावदीशिता ॥६॥
किसी तरह उस उत्तम बोधिको प्राप्त हुए हैं कि नौकास्वरूप जिस बोधिके द्वारा संसार-सागरके उस पार पहुँचेंगे ॥५६।। जो आशीविष-सर्पके फनके समान भयङ्कर हैं, शङ्का अर्थात् भय जिनके प्राण हैं तथा जो परमदुःखके कारण हैं ऐसे भोगोंको हम दूरसे ही छोड़ना चाहते हैं ॥७॥ इस कर्माधीन जीवकी रक्षा करनेके लिए न माता सहायक है, न पिता सहायक है, न भाई सहायक है, न कुटुम्बीजन सहायक हैं और न मित्र लोग सहायक हैं ॥५८॥ हे तात ! हम लोगोंपर आपका तथा माताओंका जो उपमारहित परम वात्सल्य है उसे हम जानते हैं और यह भी जानते हैं कि संसारी प्राणियोंके लिए यही बड़ा बन्धन है परन्तु आपके स्नेहसे होनेवाला सुख क्या चिरकाल तक रह सकता है ? भोगनेके बाद भी उसका विरह अवश्य प्राप्त करना होता है और ऐसा विरह कि जो करोंतके समान भयङ्कर होता है ।।५६-६०॥ यह जीव भोगों में तृप्त हुए बिना ही कुमित्रकी तरह इस शरीरको छोड़ देगा तब क्या प्राप्त हुआ कहलाया ? ॥६१॥
तदनन्तर परमस्नेहसे विह्वल लक्ष्मण उन पुत्रोंको मस्तकपर सूंघकर तथा पुनः पुनः उनकी ओर देखकर बोले कि ये महल जो कि कैलासके शिखरके समान हैं,सुवर्ण तथा रनोंसे निर्मित हैं, सुवर्णके हजारों खम्भोंसे सुशोभित हैं, जिनके फौंकी भूमियाँ नानाप्रकारकी हैं, जो सुन्दर-सुन्दर छज्जोंसे सहित हैं, अच्छी तरह सेवन करने योग्य हैं, निर्मल हैं, सुन्दर हैं, सब प्रकारके उपकरणोंसे सहित हैं, मलयाचल जैसी सुगन्धित वायुसे जिनमें भ्रमर आकृष्ट होते रहते हैं, जहाँ स्नानादि कार्यों के योग्य जुदी-जुदी उज्ज्वल भूमियाँ हैं, जो शरद्ऋतुके चन्द्रमाके समान आभावाले हैं, शुभ्रवर्ण हैं, जिनमें देवाङ्गनाओं के समान स्त्रियोंका आवास है, जो सब प्रकारके गुणोंसे सहित हैं, स्वर्गके भवनोंके समान है, वीणा, वेणु, मृदङ्ग आदिके संगीतसे मनोहर हैं और जिनेन्द्र भगवान्के चरित सम्बन्धी कथाओंसे अत्यन्त पवित्र हैं, सामने खड़े हैं सोहे बालको ! इन महलोंमें सुखसे रहकर अब तुम लोग दीक्षा धारणकर वन और पहाड़ोंके बीच कैसे रहोगे ? ॥६२-६८॥ हे पुत्रो ! स्नेहाधीन मुझे तथा शोकसंतप्त माताको छोड़कर जाना योग्य नहीं है इसलिए ऐश्वर्यका सेवन करो ॥६६॥

Even after enjoying it, separation is inevitable, and such separation is as terrible as a crocodile. ||59-60|| When this being, satiated with enjoyments, abandons this body like a wicked friend, what is gained then? ||61||

Then Lakshmana, overwhelmed with love, smelled his sons on their heads and looked at them again and again, saying, "These palaces, which are like the peaks of Kailasa, are made of gold and jewels, adorned with thousands of golden pillars, have diverse and beautiful grounds, are adorned with beautiful balconies, are fit for enjoyment, are pure, are beautiful, are equipped with all kinds of amenities, are filled with fragrant breezes like those of the Malaya mountain, attracting bees, have various pure lands suitable for bathing and other rituals, are white like the autumn moon, have women like celestial nymphs, are endowed with all virtues, are like the palaces of heaven, are delightful with the music of the vina, flute, mridanga, etc., and are extremely pure due to the stories of the Jina's life, are standing before you, dear children! How will you, after living happily in these palaces, take initiation and live in the forests and mountains? ||62-68|| My dear sons, it is not proper for you to leave me, who am bound by affection, and my mother, who is consumed by grief. Therefore, enjoy your wealth. ||69||
