पद्मपुराणे
स्तूपैश्च वलाम्भोज मुकुल प्रतिमामितैः । समपादयतां क्षोणीं शतशः कृतभूषणाम् ॥ ६७ ॥ ततः समाधिमाराध्य मरणे वृषभध्वजः । त्रिदशोऽभवदीशाने पुण्यकर्मफलानुभूः ॥ ६८ ॥ सुरस्त्रीनयनाम्भोजविका सिनयनद्युतिः । तथाऽक्रीडत् परिध्यातसम्पन्नसकलेप्सितः ॥ ६६ ॥ काले पद्मरुचिः प्राप्य समाधिमरणं तथा । ईशान एव गीर्वाणः कान्तो वैमानिकोऽभवत् ॥७०॥ च्युतवापर विदेहे तु विजयाचलमस्तके । नन्द्यावर्त्तपुरेशस्य राज्ञो नन्दीश्वरश्रुतेः ॥ ७१ ॥ उत्पन्नः कनकाभायां नयनानन्दसंज्ञकः । खेचरेन्द्रश्रियं तत्र बुभुजे परमायताम् ॥७२॥ ततः श्रामण्यमास्थाय कृत्वा सुविकटं तपः । कालधर्मं समासाद्य माहेन्द्रं कल्पमाश्रयत् ॥ ७३ ॥ मनोज्ञपञ्चविषयद्वारं परमसुन्दरम् । परिमाप सुखं तत्र पुण्यवल्ली महाफलम् ॥७४॥ च्युतस्ततो गिरेर्मेरोर्भागे पूर्वदिशि स्थिते । क्षेमायां पुरि सन्जातः श्रीचन्द्र इति विश्रुतः ॥ ७५ ॥ माता पद्मावती तस्य पिता विपुलवाहनः । तत्र स्वर्गीपभुक्तस्य निष्यन्दं कर्मणोऽभजत् ॥ ७६ ॥ तस्य पुण्यानुभावेन कोशो विषयसाधनम् । दिने दिने' परां वृद्धिमसेवत समन्ततः ॥७७॥ ग्रामस्थानीयसम्पन्नां पृथिवीं विविधाकराम् । प्रियामिव महाप्रीत्या श्रीचन्द्रः समपालयत् ॥ ७८ ॥ हावभावमनोज्ञाभिर्नारीभिस्तत्र लालितः । पर्यरंसीत् सुरस्त्रीभिः सुरेन्द्र इव सङ्गतः ॥ ७६ ॥ संवत्सरसहस्राणि सुभूरीणि क्षणोपमम् । तस्य दोदुन्दुकस्येव महैश्वर्ययुजोऽगमन् ॥८०॥ गुवितमित्युद्यः सङ्खेन महतावृतः । समाधिगुप्तयोगीन्द्रः पुरं तदन्यदागमत् ॥ ८१ ॥ पर अनेक जिनमन्दिर और जिनबिम्ब बनवाये ॥ ६६|| सफेद कमलकी बोंड़ियोंके समान स्तूपोंसे सैकड़ों बार पृथिवीको अलंकृत किया ||६७॥

तदनन्तर मरणके समय समाधिकी आराधना कर वृषभध्वज ईशान वर्ग में पुण्य कर्मका फल भोगनेवाला देव हुआ ||६८ ॥ उस देवके नयनोंकी कान्ति देवाङ्गनाओंके नयन कमलों को विकसित करनेवाली थी, तथा क्रीड़ा करते समय ध्यान करते ही उसके समस्त मनोरथ पूर्ण हो जाते थे ॥ ६६ ॥ इधर पद्मरुचि भी आयुके अन्त में समधिमरण प्राप्तकर ईशान स्वर्ग में ही सुन्दर वैमानिक देव हुआ || ७० ॥ तदनन्तर पद्मरुचिका जीव वहाँ से चय कर पश्चिम विदेह क्षेत्र के विजयार्ध पर्वत पर नन्द्यावर्त नगरके राजा नन्दीश्वरकी कनकाभा रानीसे नयनानन्द नामका पुत्र हुआ। वहाँ उसने चिरकाल तक विद्याधर राजाकी विशाल लक्ष्मीका उपभोग किया ॥७१-९२ ।। तदनन्तर मुनि-दीक्षा ले अत्यन्त विकट तप किया और अन्तमें समाधिमरण प्राप्त कर माहेन्द्र स्वर्ग प्राप्त किया || ७३ ॥ वहाँ उसने पुण्यरूपी लताके महाफलके समान पञ्चेन्द्रियों के विषय द्वार से अत्यन्त सुन्दर मनोहर सुख प्राप्त किया ॥ ७४ ॥
तदनन्तर वहाँ से च्युत होकर मेरु पर्वत के पश्चिम दिग्भागमें स्थित क्षेमपुरी नगरी में श्रीचन्द्र नामका प्रसिद्ध राजपुत्र हुआ || ७५ || वहाँ उसकी नाताका नाम पद्मावती और पिताका नाम विपुलवान था । वह वहाँ स्वर्ग में भोगे हुए कर्मका जो निःस्यन्द शेष रहा था उसीका मान उपभोग करता था ॥७६॥ | उसके पुण्य प्रभावसे उसका खजाना, देश तथा सैन्य बल सब ओर से प्रतिदिन परम वृद्धिको प्राप्त हो रहा था ॥७७॥ वह श्रीचन्द्र, एक ग्रामके स्थानापन्न, नानाखानों से सहित विशाल पृथिवीका प्रियाके समान महाप्रीतिसे पालन करता था || ७८ || वहाँ वह हावभावसे मनोज्ञ स्त्रियोंके द्वारा लालित होता हुआ देवाङ्गनाओंसे सहित देवेन्द्र के समान क्रीड़ा करता था ॥७६॥ दोदुंदुक देवके समान महान् ऐश्वयको प्राप्त हुए उस श्रीचन्द्रके कई हजार वर्ष एक क्षणके समान व्यतीत हो गये ॥ ८० ॥

**Verse 80:** Like the Dodunduka deva, he possessed great wealth and power, and thousands of years passed for him like a moment.

**Verse 81:** Then, at some point, he was surrounded by a large and powerful assembly of those who practiced vows and secrecy, and who were superior in their devotion to the Samadhi.
