Padma Purana
Knowing that the bow was made by Pinaka, the one who desired the family, the mature maiden was given by the learned Dhanadata to the prosperous one. [14]
The other wealthy merchant's son, known as Shrikanta, constantly desired her. [15]
Considering the scarcity of wealth, the mother with a petty mind disregarded Dhanadata and desired to give the maiden to Shrikanta. [16]
Knowing this scheme, Vasudatta, the beloved elder brother, attempted to kill Shrikanta under the pretext of a sacrifice. [17]
Gathering the circles, in the deep darkness of the night, he silently placed his steps, covered in a blue garment. [18]
Going to the garden of the house, he found Shrikanta in a careless state and struck him with the sword, and Shrikanta was killed by him. [19]
Thus, they both met death by mutual killing and were born as deer in the great forest of Vindhya. [20]
The maiden was then prevented by the evil people from being given to Dhanadata. They indeed get angry without any reason, what to say of advice? [21]
Due to the death of the brother and the non-attainment of the maiden, Dhanadata, distressed, wandered in various countries from his home. [22]
The maiden, also extremely unhappy as she did not get the desired one, was engaged in the undesirable task of serving food in the house. [23]
Due to her false belief nature, she always hated the unclothed (ascetics), was jealous of them, abused them, and also disrespected them. [24]
Being attached to false beliefs, she had no faith in the Jain doctrine at all, according to the bondage of karma. [25]
Then, at the end of her life, being devoted to painful meditation, she was born as a doe in the same forest where they (Shrikanta and Vasudatta) resided as deer. [26]
Due to the defect of previous connection, she again became a deer along with them, and after killing each other, they went to the state of a boar. [27]
