द्वयुत्तरशतं पर्व शिबिकाशिखरैः केचिद्युयोग्यतरैः परे । निर्ययुबहुवादिबधिरीकृतदिङ्मुखाः ॥१५२॥ सकटशिरस्त्राणाः क्रोधालिङ्गितचेतसः । पुराइष्टसुविक्रान्तप्रसादपरसेवकाः ॥१५३॥ ततः श्रुत्वा परानीकनिःस्वनं सम्भ्रमान्वितः । समातेति सैन्यं स्वं वज्रजा: समादिशत् ॥१५॥ ततस्ते परसैन्यस्य श्रुत्वा निःस्वनमावृताः । स्वयमेव सुसमद्धास्तस्यान्तिकमुपागमन् ॥१५५॥ कालानलोप्रचण्डावना नेपालवर्वराः । पौण्ड्रा मागधसौस्नाश्च पारशैलाः ससिंहलाः ॥१५६॥ कालिकाश्च राजानो रत्नाकाद्या महाबलाः । एकादशसहस्राणि युक्ता झुत्तमतेजसा ॥१५॥ एवं तत्परमं सैन्यं परसैन्यकृताननम् । सङ्घमुत्तमं प्राप्तं चलितं प्रचलायुधम् ॥१५॥ तयोः समागमो रौद्रो देवासुरकृताद्भुतः । बभूव सुमहाशब्दः क्षुब्धाकूपारयोरिव ॥१५॥ प्रहर प्रथमं क्षुद्र मुञ्चास्त्रं किमुपेचसे । प्रहन्तुं प्रथमं शस्त्रं न मे जातु प्रवर्तते ॥१६॥ प्रहृतं लधुना तेन विशदोऽभूभुजो मम । प्रहरस्व वपुर्गाढं दढपीडितमुष्टिकः ॥१६॥ किश्चिद् व्रज पुरोभागं सञ्चारो नास्ति सङ्गरे । सायकस्यनमुज्झित्वा छुरिकां वा समाश्रय ॥१६२। कि वेपसे न हन्मि स्वां मुञ्च मार्गमयं परः । भटो युद्धमहाकण्डूचपलोऽग्रेऽवतिष्ठताम् ॥१६३॥ किंवथा गर्जसि वदन वीर्य वाचि तिष्ठति । अयं ते चेष्टितेनेव करोमि रणपूजनम् ॥१६॥ एवमाचा महारावा भटानां शौर्यशालिनाम् । निश्चेहरतिगम्भीरा वदनेभ्यः समन्ततः ॥१६५||
के वादित्रोंसे जिन्होंने दिशाओंको बहिरा कर दिया था, जो कवच और टोपसे सहित थे, जिनके चित्त क्रोधसे व्याप्त थे, तथा जिनके सेवक पूर्व दृष्ट, परम पराक्रमी और प्रसन्नता प्राप्त करने में तत्पर थे ऐसे कितने ही लोग पर्वतोंके समान ऊंचे रथास, कितने ही मेघों के समान हाधियांसं कितने ही महासागरकी तरङ्गोंके समान घोड़ोंसे, कितने ही पालकीके शिखरोंसे और कितने ही अत्यन्त योग्य वृषभोंसे अर्थात् इन पर आरूढ हो बाहर निकले ।।१५१-१५३।।
तदनन्तर परकीय सेनाका शब्द सुनकर संभ्रमसे सहित वज्रजचन्ने अपनी सेनाको आदेश दिया कि तैयार होओ ॥१५४॥ तदनन्तर पर-सेनाका शब्द सुनकर कवच आदिसे आवृत सब सैनिक तैयार हो वनजङ्घके पास स्वयं आ गये ॥१५५।। प्रलय कालकी अग्निके समान प्रचण्ड अङ्ग, बङ्ग, नेपाल, वर्वर, पौण्ड, मागध, सौस्न, पारशैल, सिंहक, कालिङ्गक तथा रत्नाङ्क आदि महाबलवान् एवं उत्तमतेजसे युक्त ग्यारह हजार राजा युद्धके लिए तैयार हुए ॥१५६-१५७॥ इसप्रकार जिसने शत्रुसेनाकी ओर मुख किया था, तथा जिसमें शस्त्र चल रहे थे ऐसी वह चञ्चल उत्कृष्ट सेना उत्तम संघट्टको प्राप्त हुई अर्थात् दोनों सेनाओं में तीब्र मुठभेड़ हुई ॥१५८।। उन दोनों सेनाओं में ऐसा भयंकर समागम हुआ जो पहले हुए देव और असुरोंके समागमसे भी कहीं आश्चर्यकारी था तथा क्षोभको प्राप्त हुए दो समुद्रोंके समागमके समान महाशब्द कर रहा था ॥१५६।। 'अरे क्षुद्र ! पहले प्रहार कर, शस्त्र छोड़, क्यों उपेक्षा कर रहा है ? मेरा शस्त्र पहले प्रहार करनेके लिए कभी प्रवृत्त नहीं होता ॥१६०।। अरे, उसने हलका प्रहार किये इससे मेरी भुजा स्वस्थ रही आई अर्थात् उसमें कुछ हुआ ही नहीं, जरा दृढ़ मुट्ठी कस कर शरीरपर जोरदार प्रहार कर ॥१६१॥ कुछ सामने आ, युद्ध में वाणका संचार ठीक नहीं हो रहा है, अथवा फिर वाणको छोड़ छुरी उठा ॥१६२।। क्यों काँप रहा है ? मैं तुझे नहीं मारता, मार्ग छोड़, युद्धकी महाखाजसे चपल यह दूसरा प्रबल योद्धा सामने खड़ा हो ॥१६३॥ अरे क्षुद्र ! व्यर्थ क्यों गरज रहा है ? वचनमें शक्ति नहीं रहती, यह मैं तेरी चेष्टासे ही रणको पूजा करता हूँ ॥१६४॥ इन्हें आदि लेकर, पराक्रमसे सुशोभित योद्धाओंके मुखोंसे सब ओर अत्यन्त गम्भीर महाशब्द निकल रहे

"Why are you trembling? I will not kill you, leave the path, this other valiant warrior, agile like a spark from the great fire of battle, is standing in front." ||163||
"Oh, you insignificant one! Why are you roaring in vain? There is no power in your words, I am worshipping the battle by your efforts." ||164||
Thus, from the mouths of the valiant warriors, very deep, great sounds were coming out all around. ||165||
