अष्टनवतितम पर्व
प्रतिपक्षे हते तस्मिन् प्रत्यानीता ततः सती । सम्प्राप्ताऽसि पुनः सौख्यं बलदेवप्रसादतः ॥१॥ अशुभोदयतो भूयो गर्भाधानसमन्विता । विना दोषेण मुक्तासि परिवादोरगपता ॥१२॥ यः साधुकुसुमागारं प्रदीपयति दुर्गिरा । अत्यन्तदारुणः पापो वह्निना दह्यतामसी ॥१३॥ परमा देवि धन्या स्वमहो सुश्लाध्यचेष्टिता । चैत्यालयनमस्कारदोहदं यदसि श्रिता ॥३॥ अद्यापि पुण्यमस्त्येव तव सच्छीलशालिनि । दृष्टासि यन्मयारण्ये प्राप्तेन द्विपकारणम् ॥१५॥ इन्द्रवंशप्रसूतस्य शुभैकचरितात्मनः । राज्ञो द्विरदवाहस्य सुबन्धुमहिषीभवः ॥१६॥ सुतोऽहं वज्रजङ्घाख्यः पुण्डरीकपुराधिपः । त्वं मे धर्मविधानेन ज्यायसी गुणिनि स्वसा ॥१७॥ एयत्तिष्ठोत्तमे यावः पुरं तामसमुत्सृज । राजपुत्रि कृतेऽप्यस्मिन् कार्य किञ्चिन्न सिद्धयति ॥३॥ स्थितायास्तत्र ते पद्मः पश्चात्तापसमाकुलः । पुनरन्वेषणं साध्वि करिष्यति न संशयः ।।६।। परिभ्रष्टं प्रमादेन महाघगुणमुज्वलम् । रत्नं को न पुनर्विद्वानन्विष्यति महादरः ॥१०॥ सान्व्यमाना ततस्तेन धर्मसारकृतात्मना । धृति जगाम वैदेही परं प्राप्येव बान्धवम् ॥११॥ प्रशशंस च तं स त्वं भ्राता मे परमः शुभः । यशस्वी सुमतिः सत्वी शूरः सजनवत्सलः ॥१०२॥
आर्या अधिगतसम्यग्दृष्टिगृहीतपरमार्थबोधिपूतारमा । साधुरिव भावितात्मा व्रतगुणशीलार्थमुद्युक्तः ॥१०३॥ चरितं सत्पुरुषस्य व्यपगतदोषं परोपकारनिर्युक्तम् । क्षपयति कस्य न शोकं जिनमतनिरतप्रगाढचेतस्कस्य ॥१०॥
श्रीरामके प्रसादसे पुनः सुखको प्राप्त हुई अब फिर गर्भवती हो पापोदयसे निन्दारूपी साँपके द्वारा ढुसी गई है और बिना दोषके ही यहाँ छोड़ी गई है ॥६०-६२।। जो साधुरूपी फूलोंके महलको दुर्वचनके द्वारा जला देता है वह अत्यन्त कठिन पाप अग्निके द्वारा भस्मीभूत हो अर्थात तेरा पापकर्म शीघ्र ही नाशको प्राप्त हो ॥३॥ अहो देवि! तू परम धन्य है, और अत्यन्त प्रशंसनीय चेष्टाकी धारक है जो तू चैत्यालयोंको वन्दनाके दोहलाको प्राप्त हुई है ।।६४॥ हे उत्तमशीलशोभिते ! आज भी तेरा पुण्य है ही जो हाथीके निमित्त वनमें आये हुए मैंने तुझे देख लिया ।।६५।मैं इन्द्रवंशमें उत्पन्न, एक शुभ आचारका ही पालन करनेवाले राजा द्विरदवाहकी सुबन्धु नामक रानीसे उत्पन्न हुआ वनजंघ नामका पुत्र हूँ, मैं पुण्डरीकनगरका स्वामी हूँ । हे गुणवति ! तू धर्म विधिसे मेरी बड़ी बहिन है ।।६६-६७|| हे उत्तमे, चलो उठो नगर चलें, शोक छोड़ो क्योंकि हे राजपुत्रि! इस शोकके करनेपर भी कोई कार्य सिद्ध नहीं होता है॥८॥ हे पतिव्रते ! तुम वहाँ रहोगी तो पश्चात्तापसे आकुल होते हुए राम फिरसे तुम्हारी खोज करेंगे इसमें संशय नहीं है ।।६६|| प्रमादसे गिरे, महामूल्य गुणोंके धारक उज्ज्वल रत्नको कौन विद्वान् । बड़े आदरसे फिर नहीं चाहता है ? अर्थात् सभी चाहते हैं ।।१०।।
तदनन्तर धर्मके रहस्यसे कुशल अर्थात् धर्मके मर्मको जाननेवाले उस वनजंघके द्वारा समझाई गई सीता इस प्रकार धैर्यको प्राप्त हुई मानो उसे भाई ही मिल गया हो ॥१०१।। उसने वनजंघकी इस तरह प्रशंसा की कि हाँ तू मेरा वही भाई है, तू अत्यन्त शुभ है, यशस्वी है, बुद्धिमान है, धैर्यशाली है, शूरवीर है, साधु-वत्सल है, सम्यग्दृष्टि है, परमार्थको समझनेवाला है, रत्नत्रयसे पवित्रात्मा है, साधुकी भाँति आत्मचिन्तन करनेवाला है तथा व्रत गुण और शीलकी प्राप्तिके लिए निरन्तर तत्पर रहता है ॥१०२-१०३।। निर्दोष एवं परोपकारमें तत्पर सत्पुरुषका चरित, किस जिनमतके प्रगाढ़ श्रद्धानीका शोक नहीं नष्ट करता? अर्थात सभीका

I am Vajrajangha, the lord of the city of Pundarika, and you are my elder sister by the law of Dharma, O virtuous one. ||17||

O best one, rise and leave this city of darkness. Even for the sake of the king's daughter, nothing is accomplished. ||3||

If you stay there, she will be filled with remorse, and there is no doubt that Rama will search for you again. ||6||

Who, being a great scholar, would not search for a jewel that has been lost due to carelessness, a jewel that is brilliant and possesses great qualities? ||10||

Being thus advised by him, who was a master of the essence of Dharma, the daughter of Janaka attained fortitude, having found her brother. ||11||

She praised him, saying, "You are my true brother, you are auspicious, glorious, wise, courageous, and compassionate to the virtuous." ||102||

She has attained the right vision, grasped the true meaning, and her soul is purified by the three jewels. She is like a virtuous person, with a pure mind, and is dedicated to the virtues of vows, qualities, and conduct. ||103||

The conduct of a virtuous person, free from faults and dedicated to the welfare of others, does not destroy the sorrow of anyone who is deeply devoted to the teachings of the Jinas. ||10||

By the grace of Sri Rama, she again attained happiness, and became pregnant. She was then freed from the evil omen by the serpent of slander, without any fault. ||60-62||
