सूचीनिचितमार्गेषु भ्राम्यतः शास्त्रपूर्वकम् । शत्रुस्थानेषु तस्याभूञ्चतुरङ्गुलचारिता ॥१४॥ अत्यन्तप्रलयं कृत्वा मोहनीयस्य कर्मणः । अवाप केवलज्ञानं लोकालोकावभासनम् ॥१५।।
आर्यागोतिः ईमाहात्म्ययुतः काले समनुक्रमेण विगतरजस्कः । यदभीप्सितं तदेष स्थान प्राप्तो यतो न भूयः पातः ॥१६॥ भरतर्षेरिदमनघं सुचरितमनुकीर्तयेन्नरो यो भक्त्या । स्वायुरियति स कीर्ति यशो बलं धनविभूतिमारोग्यं च ॥१७॥ सारं सर्वकथानां परममिदं चरितमुन्नतगुणं शुभ्रम् ।
शृण्वन्तु जना भव्या निर्जितरवितेजसो भवन्ति यदाशु ॥१८॥ इत्याचे श्रीरविपेणाचार्य पोक्ते पद्मपुराणे भरतनिर्वाणगमनं नामसप्ताशीतितम पर्व ॥८॥
धारक उत्तम मुनि थे ॥१३॥ वे डाभकी अनियोंसे व्याप्त मार्गमें शास्त्रानुसार ईर्यासमितिसे चलते थे तथा शत्रुओंके स्थानों में भी उनका निर्भय विहार होता था ॥१४॥ तदनन्तर मोहनीय कर्मका अत्यन्त प्रलय-समूल क्षय कर वे लोक-अलोकको प्रकाशित करनेवाले केवलज्ञानको प्राप्त हुए ॥१शा जो इस प्रकारकी महिमासे युक्त थे तथा अनुक्रमसे जिन्होंने कर्मरजको नष्ट किया था ऐसे वे भरतमुनि उस अभीष्ट स्थान-मुक्तिस्थानको प्राप्त हुए कि जहाँसे फिर लौटकर आना नहीं होता ॥१६॥ गौतम स्वामी कहते हैं कि जो मनुष्य भरतमुनिके इस निर्मल चरितको भक्तिपूर्वक कहता-सुनता है वह अपनी आयु पर्यन्त कीर्ति, यश, बल, धनवैभव और आरोग्यको प्राप्त होता है ॥१७॥ यह चरित्र सर्व कथाओंका उत्तम सार है, उन्नत गुणोंसे युक्त है और उज्ज्वल है। हे भव्यजनो! इसे तुम सब ध्यानसे सुनो जिससे शीघ्र ही सूर्यके तेजको जीतनेवाले हो सको ॥१८॥ इस प्रकार आर्ष नामसे प्रसिद्ध रविषेणाचार्य द्वारा कथित पद्मपुराण में भरतके निर्वाणका
कथन करनेवाला सतासीवाँ पर्व समाप्त हुश्रा ॥८॥
