________________ १२४ पद्मपुराणे पञ्चाशद्धलकोटीनां लक्षाणि गदितानि च । स्वयं चरणशीलानां कोटिरभ्यधिका गवाम् ।।१५।। सप्ततिः साधिकाः कोटयः कुलानां स्फीतसम्पदाम् । नित्यं न्यायप्रवृत्तानां साकेतनगरीजुषाम् ॥१६॥ भवनान्यतिशुभ्राणि सर्वाणि विविधानि च । अक्षीणकोशपूर्णानि रनवन्ति कुटुम्बिनाम् ॥१७॥ पाल्या बहुविधर्धान्यः पूर्णा गण्डाद्रिसन्निभाः । विज्ञेयाः कुट्टमितलाश्चतुःशालाः सुखावहाः ॥१८॥ प्रवरोद्यानमध्यस्था नानाकुसुमशोभिताः । दीर्घिकाश्चारुसोपानाः परिक्रीडनकोचिताः ॥१६॥ प्रेयगोमहिषीवृन्दस्फीतास्तत्र कुटुम्बिनः । सौख्येन महता युक्ताः रेजुः सुरवरा इव ॥२०॥ दण्डनायकसामन्ता लोकपाला इवोदिताः । महेन्द्रतुल्यविभवा राजानः पुरुतेजसः ॥२१॥ सुन्दर्योऽप्सरसा तुल्याः संसारसुखभूमयः । निखिलं चोपकरणं यथाभिमतसौख्यदम् ॥२२॥ एवं रामेण भरतं नीतं शोभा परामिदम् । हरिषेणनरेन्द्रण यथा चक्रभृता पुरा ॥२३॥ चैत्यानि रामदेवेन कारितानि सहस्रशः । भान्ति भव्यजनैर्नित्यं पूजितानि महद्धिभिः ॥२४॥ देशग्रामपुरारण्यगृहरथ्यागतो जनः । सदेति सङ्कथां चक्रे सुखी रचितमण्डलः ॥२५॥ साकेतविषयः सर्वः सर्वथा पश्यताऽधुना । विलम्बयितुमुद्युक्तश्चित्रं गीर्वाणविष्टपम् ॥२६॥ मध्ये शक्रपुरातुल्या नगरी यस्य राजते । अयोध्या निलयैस्तुङ्गैरशक्यपरिवर्णनैः ॥२७॥ किममी त्रिदशक्रीडापवतास्तेजसाऽऽवृताः । आहोस्विच्छरदभ्रीघाः किंवा विद्यामहालयाः ॥२८॥ प्राकारोऽयं समस्ताशा द्योतयन् परमोन्नतः । समुद्रवेदिकातुल्यो महाशिखरशोभितः ॥२६॥ शस्त्र थे ।।१३-१४॥ पचास लाख हल थे, एक करोड़से अधिक अपने आप दूध देनेवाली गायें थीं ॥१५॥ जो अत्यधिक सम्पत्तिके धारक थे तथा निरन्तर न्यायमें प्रवृत्त रहने थे ऐसे अयोध्यानगरीमें निवास करनेवाले कुलोंकी संख्या कुछ अधिक सत्तर करोड़ थी ॥१६।। गृहस्थोंके समस्त घर अत्यन्त सफेद, नाना आकारोंके धारक, अक्षीण खजानोंसे परिपूर्ण तथा रत्नोंसे युक्त थे॥१७॥ नानाप्रकारके अन्नोंसे परिपूर्ण नगरके बाह्य प्रदेश छोटे मोटे गोल पर्वतोंके समान जान पड़ते थे और पक्के फरसोंसे युक्त भवनोंकी चौशाले अत्यन्त सुखदायी थीं ॥१८॥ उत्तमोत्तम बगीचोंके मध्यमें स्थित, नाना प्रकारके फूलोंसे सुशोभित, उत्तम सीढ़ियोंसे युक्त एवं क्रीडाके योग्य अनेकों वापिकाएँ थीं ॥१६॥ देखनेके योग्य अर्थात् सुन्दर सुन्दर गायों और भैंसोंके समूहसे युक्त वहाक कुटुम्बी अत्यधिक सुखसे सहित होनेके कारण उत्तम देवाके समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे ॥२०।। स नाके नायक स्वरूप जो सामन्त थे वे लोकपालोंके समान कहे गये थे तथा विशाल तेजके धारक राजा लोग महेन्द्रके समान वैभवसे युक्त थे ।।२२।। अप्सराओंके समान संसारके सुखकी भूमि स्वरूप अनेक सुन्दरी स्त्रियाँ थीं, और इच्छानुकूल सुखके देनेवाले अनेक उपकरण थे ॥२२॥ जिस प्रकार पहले, चक्ररत्नको धारण करनेवाले राजा हरिषेणके द्वारा यह भरत क्षेत्र परम शोभाको प्राप्त हुआ था उसी प्रकार यह भरत क्षेत्र रामके द्वारा परम शोभाको प्राप्त हुआ था ॥२३।। अत्यधिक सम्पदाको धारण करनेवाले भव्यजन जिनकी निरन्तर पूजा करते थे ऐसे हजारों चैत्यालय श्री रामदेवने निर्मित कराये थे ॥२४॥ देश, गाँव, नगर, वन, घर और गलियोंके मध्यमें स्थित सुखिया मनुष्य मण्डल बाँध-बाँधकर सदा यह चर्चा करते रहते थे ॥२५॥ कि देखो यह समस्त साकेत देश, इस समय आश्चर्यकारी स्वर्ग लोककी उपमा प्राप्त करनेके लिए उद्यत है ।।२६।। जिस देशके मध्य में जिनका वर्णन करना शक्य नहीं है ऐसे ऊँचे ऊँचे भवनोंसे अयोध्यापुरी इन्द्रकी नगरीके समान सुशोभित हो रही है ॥२७॥ वहाँ के बड़े बड़े विद्यालयोंको देखकर यह संदेह उत्पन्न होता था कि क्या ये तेजसे आवृत देवोंके क्रीड़ाचल हैं अथवा शरद् ऋतुके मेघोंका समूह है? ||२८|| इस नगरीका यह प्राकार समस्त दिशाओंको देदीप्यमान कर रहा है, अत्यन्त ऊँचा है, समुद्र की वेदिकाके समान है और बड़े-बड़े शिखरोंसे १. पञ्चाशद्बलकोटीनों म० । ४. लक्ष्मण-म०, ख०। रक्षण ज० । ३. चोपशरणं म० । Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
