एकाशीतितमं पर्व
प्रेष्यन्ते नगरी दूता वार्तां ज्ञापयितु ं शुभाम् । भवतोश्वागमं येन जनन्यो व्रजतः सुखम् ॥८७॥ स्वया तु षोडशाहानि स्थातुमत्र पुरे विभो । प्रसादो मम कर्त्तव्यः समाश्रितवत्सल ॥८८॥ इत्युक्त्वा मस्तकं न्यस्य समणिं रामपादयोः । तावद् विभीषणस्तस्थौ यावत्स प्रतिपन्नवान् ॥८॥ अथ प्रासादमूर्धस्था नित्यदक्षिणदिङ्मुखी । दूरतः खेचरान् वीच्य जगादेत्यपराजिता ॥१०॥ पश्य पश्य सुदूरस्थानेतान् कैकयि खेचरान् । आयातोऽभिमुखानाशु वातेरितघनोपमान् ॥ ६१ ॥ अद्यते श्राविकेऽवश्यं कथयिष्यन्ति शोभनाम् । वार्त्ता सम्प्रेषिता नूनं सानुजेन सुतेन मे ||१२|| सर्वथैवं भवत्वेतदिति यावत् कथा तयोः । वर्त्तते तावदायाताः समीपं दूतखेचराः ॥ ६३ ॥ उत्सृजन्तश्च पुष्पाणि समुत्तीर्य नभस्तलात् । प्रविश्य भवनं ज्ञाताः प्रहृष्टा भरतं ययुः ॥ ६४ ॥ राज्ञा प्रमोदिना तेन सन्मानं समुपाहृताः । आशीर्वादप्रसक्तास्ते योग्यासनसमाश्रिताः ॥ १५ ॥ यथावद्वृत्तमाचख्युरतिसुन्दरचेतसः । पद्माभं बलदेवत्वं प्राप्तं लाङ्गललक्ष्मणम् ॥३६॥ उत्पन्नचक्ररत्नं च लक्ष्मणं हरितामितम् । तयोर्भरतवास्यस्य स्वामित्वं परमोक्षतम् ||१७|| रावणः पञ्चतां प्राप्त लक्ष्मणेन हते रणे । दीक्षामिन्द्रजितादीनां वन्दिगृहमुपेयुषाम् ||८|| ताकेस रिद्विद्याप्राप्ति साधुप्रसादतः । विभीषणमहाप्रीतिं भोगं लङ्काप्रवेशनम् ॥ १६ ॥ एवं पद्माभलक्ष्मी मृदुदयस्तुतिसम्मदी । स्रक्ताम्बूलसुगन्धाद्यैर्दू तानभ्यर्हयन्नृपः ॥ १०० ॥
शान्तिको प्राप्त हो यही हमारी भावना है || ८६ ॥ हम माताओंको यह शुभ वार्ता सूचित करने के लिए अयोध्यानगरी के प्रति दूत भेजते हैं जिससे आपका आगमन जान कर माताएँ सुखको प्राप्त होंगी ||७|| हे विभो ! हे आश्रितजनवत्सल ! आप सोलह दिन तक इस नगर में ठहरनेके लिए मेरे ऊपर प्रसन्नता कीजिये ||८|| इतना कह कर विभीषणने अपना मणि सहित मस्तक रामके चरणों में रख दिया और तब तक रखे रहा तब तक कि उन्होंने स्वीकृत नहीं कर लिया ॥ =६॥

अथानन्तर महलके शिखर पर खड़ी अपराजिता ( कौशल्या ) निरन्तर दक्षिण दिशाकी ओर देखती रहती थी । एक दिन उसने दूरसे विद्याधरोंको आते देख समीपमें खड़ी कैकयी ( सुमित्रा ) से कहा कि हे कैकयि ! देख देख वे बहुत दूरी पर वायुसे प्रेरित मेघोंके समान विद्याधर शीघ्रता से इसी ओर आ रहे हैं ।।६०-६१ ।। हे श्राविके ! जान पड़ता है कि ये छोटे भाई सहित मेरे पुत्र के द्वारा भेजे हुए हैं और आज अवश्य ही शुभ वार्ता कहेंगे ||१२|| कैकयीने कहा कि जैसा आप कहती हैं सर्वथा ऐसा ही हो। इस तरह जब तक उन दोनों में वार्ता चल रही थी तब तक वे विद्याधर दूत समीप में आ गये || ३ || पुष्पवर्षा करते हुए उन्होंने आकाशसे उतर कर भवनमें प्रवेश किया और अपना परिचय दे हर्षित होते हुए वे भरतके पास गये ॥६४॥ राजा भरतने हर्षित हो उनका सन्मान किया और आशीर्वाद देते हुए वे योग्य आसनों पर आरूढ़ हुए ||१५|| सुन्दर चित्तको धारण करनेवाले उन विद्याधर दूतोंने सब समाचार यथायोग्य कहे । उन्होंने कहा कि रामको बलदेव पद प्राप्त हुआ है । लक्ष्मणके चक्ररत्न प्रकट हुआ है तथा उन्हें नारायण पद मिला है । राम-लक्ष्मण दोनों को भरत क्षेत्रका उत्कृष्ट स्वामित्व प्राप्त हुआ है । युद्धमें लक्ष्मणके द्वारा घायल हो रावण मृत्युको प्राप्त हुआ है, वन्दीगृह में रहनेवाले इन्द्रजित् आदिने जिन दीक्षा धारण कर ली है, देशभूषण और कुलभूषण मुनिका उपसर्ग दूर करनेसे गरुप्रसन्न हुआ था सो उसके द्वारा राम-लक्ष्मणको सिंहवाहिनी तथा गरुडवाहिनी विद्याएँ प्राप्त हुई हैं । विभीषण के साथ महाप्रेम उत्पन्न हुआ है, उत्तमोत्तम भोग-सम्पदाएँ प्राप्त हुई हैं तथा लंका में उनका प्रवेश हुआ है ।।६६ - ६६ || इस प्रकार राम-लक्ष्मणके अभ्युदयसूचक समाचारोंसे प्रसन्न हुए राजा भरतने उन दूतोंका माला पान तथा सुगन्ध आदिके द्वारा सन्मान किया ॥ १०० ॥ १. सुवत्सलः म० । २. हरेर्भावो हरिता तां नारायणताम् इतम् प्राप्तम् म० । ३. वासस्य म० ।
