Here is the English translation with the Sanskrit terms retained: 0. In the Padma Purana, slowly and gradually, the great agitation that was in the direction of the fire of his eyes was released. He wiped away the large drops of sweat from his forehead. (13) With his trembling hands, he arranged his disheveled hair. While doing this, he repeatedly remembered the previous events and began to let out long breaths. (14) After that, when fear departed, in his anger, he started reflecting in this manner. During his contemplation, all his limbs were firmly still, but he was slightly shaking his head. (15) He began to think that see, there was no fault in my mind; I had only gone there with the desire to see the beauty of Sita, attracted by Ramachandra, but I ended up in a situation where there was fear of death. (16) How shocking is it that the behavior of that matured maiden was filled with such wickedness that I was caught by humans who were comparable to Yama Raja! (17) Where will that sinful one go now? I will certainly put her in difficulty. I dance even without music; then what to say if the music plays? (18) Contemplating this, he made a beautiful painting of Sita, as if she were present, and taking it with him, he quickly went to the city of Rathanupar. (19) Upon arriving there, he placed the painted image in a very tall pleasure house in the garden and remained hidden, staying outside the city. (20) Then, one day, while playing with many princes, Bhamaṇḍala Kumara came there. (21) Upon seeing the painted sister Sita, he, out of ignorance, quickly lost his sense of shame, scripture, knowledge, and memory; that is, upon seeing Sita's painting, he became so overwhelmed with desire that he forgot all shame, scriptures, and memory. (22) He began to grieve incessantly and started to let out extremely long sighs; his body shriveled, and he carelessly cast aside his limp body wherever he could – that is, he would get up and sit down wherever he wished. (23) He found no sleep at night nor any peace during the day. Day and night, he was immersed in thoughts of her. With beautiful treatments, he never experienced any happiness. (24) He held such a grudge against flowers, fragrant substances, and food. 1. Nishchala-sthita ma. 2. Chandragataḥ ja. 3. Ramyeṇa. 4. Visha-nimitam.
