तम् । कृष्णवर्णकायमित्यर्थः । कालिका - (1) a row of hair, (2) a female crow; (3) an assemblage of clouds; (4) smoke; (5) a new cloud आमन्द्रध्वनितसुभगम् - charming owing to rambling sounds of thundering. आ ईषत् मन्द्रं गम्भीरं आमन्द्रम् । 'मन्द्रस्तु गम्भीरे' इत्यमरः। आमन्द्रध्वनितेन सुभगः आमन्द्रध्वनितसुभगः। तम् । विमुक्ताम् - sustained. शितिं - black. 'शिती धवलमेचको' इत्यरः । 'शिञ् निशाने, मेचकः कृष्णः' इति क्षीरस्वामी । इति - a leathern bag meant for drawing water. गगनगतयः - the sky-wanderers. गगने विहायसि गतिः गमनं येषां ते गगनगतयः । 'अवयों बहुव्रीहिय॑धिकरणो जन्मायुत्तरपदः' इति वामनः। दृष्टीः आवयं - changing the direction of their eye-sight. The sky-wanderers as. Sambara says, will look upon the cloud, floating in the sky, as a leathern bag meant for drawing water from a well.
Stanza. 40-शशधरकरस्पर्धिनम् – rivalling with the rays of the moon. शशधरस्य क्षपाकरस्य करैः किरणः स्पर्धते साम्यमातनुते इति शशधरकरस्पर्धी । तम् । क्षपाकरकराकारसदृशमित्यर्थः । कुवलयश्यामभासि - possessing •colour or complexion as dark as that of a blue lotus. कुवलयं नीलकमलम् । तदिव श्यामा नीला कुवलयश्यामा। Here, the word कुवलय, the standard of comparison, is compounded with the word 1917, implying the common property, under the rule 'सामान्येनोपमानम् '. कुवलयश्यामा भाः रुक् यस्य सः कुवलयश्यामभाः । तस्मिन् । 'भाः प्रभावे रुचि स्त्रियाम् ' इति विश्वलोचने । अध्यासीने - hanging over. अध्यासीन, being a कृदन्तं form and a कृदन्त form being treated as a root under the rule ' कृदन्तं धातुत्वं न जहाति', governs the Accusative case (तत्प्रवाह) under the rule 'कमैवाधेः शीङ्स्थाऽऽसः '. स्थूलमध्येन्द्रनीलम् - having a big sapphire at the centre. स्थूलः महाकायः मध्यः मुक्तागुणमध्यदेशस्थितः इन्द्रनीलः मणिविशेषः यस्य सः। तम्। 'मध्यं न्याय्येऽवकाशे च मध्यं मध्यस्थिते त्रिषु' इति विश्वलोचने । अनिमिषाः - gods. 'सुरे मस्त्येऽष्यनिमिषः' इति विश्वलोचने ।
