Research Foundation for Jainology
The Research Foundation for Jainology was established in the year 1982 aiming to foster awareness of Jaina Philosophy and its tenets in the mind of public viz. development of body, enrichment of benevolence, sublimation of emotions, character building and illumination of the spirit within.
The Foundation is a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.
Subsequently the Foundation established in the year 1988 a full fledged Department of Jainology in Madras University, Madras with Post graduate and research courses upto Ph.D. level.
The Foundation has published several valued publications in Tamil. Hindi and English. These have been well received by students, teachers and scholars alike.
The Foundation, in association with Śrī Gujarātī Śwetambara Sthanakawāsī Jaina Association, Chennai is now publishing the Hindi version of 'Navatattva of Jainism in Sanskrit Literature 'being the Ph.D. research thesis of Her Holiness Dr. Dharmsheelaji Mahasatiji written in 'Marathi'. The great work of Hindi Translation has been rendered by Porf. Sagarmal Jain, Director Emeritus, Parshwanath Vidyapeeth. Varanasi, presently residing at Shajapur (M.P.) which is highly praiseworthy.
The original text in Marathi and translation in Gujarati language of this book had already been published.
