Per chance Acārānga-2 has many additions to the list suggesting its later composition than DSV. The list of eatable seems to be very small in comparison to the modern days of natural, modified, synthetic and fast foods. Moreover, the contraction of the current world of human beings as a family has made the number of eatables to be virtually innumerable. It has become necessary to sort out their eatability authentically. Samani Kusumaprajñā et. al. have dealt with this point exhaustively.67
