The Nyāya Philosophy agrees with the Vaiseșika on this point “kāraṇaguņa pūrvakaḥ kāryaguņo drstah” (the quality of the composite product is produced by the corresponding quality of the constitutive cause as a rule). But it differs from the latter in regard to a particular class of events, viz. the emergence of new qualities in earth-bodies due to the action of heat. That is, it is a kinds of conjunction of the taijasa (fiery) elements by which the previous colour, etc., of the earth. atom are destroyed and another colour, etc., are produced in their place.
