During the last few years, a number of publications on “Jain Religion and Philosophy" have come out in English, both in the form o translations of the works of ancient Acharyas (Pontiffs ) and original works. However, the various technical words often used by the old authors (Acharyas ) have yet to get a standard and appropriate terminology in English. I have tried my best to seek guidance from all such publications. But I am not fully satisfied by the available English Equivalents of the technical words used by me in this translation. A list of publications referred to by me is given in the end of this booklet.
I have tried my level best not to deviate from the original work and enough care has been taken to maintain the true meaning and sense of the original work. However, to convey accurately the original sense by a translation specially in a foreign language, is not easy, I, therefore, request the learned readers to forgive me for the errors still left and which may be entirely due to my own limitations and negligence. Readers are requested to send their valuable suggestions for further improvements which may be gratefully utilized in the next edition. If, notwithstanding my errors, even a single soul is inspired by this book to seek the truth in
