________________ Kävyakalpalatävṛitti It seems that fanf the author of on Amara Candra's work has taken some inspiration from Deveśvara. 22 In 2.4,, the illustrative treatment is a little too brief, though it is wellplanned, effective and to the point. The third, with its six Kusumas, lays down practical model illustrations of the description of six different topics on which a poet can write. These topics, राजदर्शनं गङ्गास्तुतिः, भगवत्पादानुभाषणं विप्रसम्भाषणं, तडागादिवर्णनं, and वादितर्जनं give excellent guidance to the poets on what and how to write. Even the two types of Kathā mentioned in the beginning वीतरागकथा and विजिगीषुकथा and the details that follow are very much interesting indeed. The topics of fa etc., are also nicely dealt with, and they give so many possible options of addresses and traits of etc., that a poet can possibly make use of even, in his own composition. This whole topic can be adjudged as the best in the work and a fairly remarkable contribution of Deveśvara to the problem of fafe. We may also stress again that many Kārilās and of course illustrations that Deveśvara seems to take from Amaral Candra, probably come from a common source made use of by both. Footnotes: 1.
