[149 पादिकादीनां बाह्यनिमित्तवशादायुरपवर्त्यते, इत्ययं नियमः । इतरेषामनियमः। चरमस्य देहस्योस्कृष्टत्वप्रदर्शनार्थमुत्तमग्रहणं नार्थान्तरविशेषोऽस्ति । 'चरमदेहा' इति वा पाठः ।
__इति तत्त्वार्थवृत्तौ सर्वार्थसिद्धि संज्ञिकायां द्वितीयोऽध्यायः ।।2।।
चरमदेहका ही विशेषण मान लिया है। एक बात स्पष्ट है कि प्रारम्भसे ही उत्तम पदपर विवाद रहा है। तभी तो सर्वार्थसिद्धि में 'चरमदेह इस प्रकार पाठान्तरको सूचना की गयी है और यह पाठान्तर उन्हें पूर्व परम्परासे प्राप्त था।
इस प्रकार सर्वार्थसिद्धिनामक तत्त्वार्थवृत्तिमें दूसरा अध्याय समाप्त हुआ ।।2।।
