________________ This collection of Seminar papers on the Jain Canonical Literature will be found useful and valuable from two points of view : Some papers occupy themselves with the study and discussion of topics and issues specific to the Ardhamagadhi Canon or broader Jain sacred tradition. The others, however have adopted a comparative perspective relating to the Jain and non-Jain traditions. It is being now increasingly recognised that there has been considerable disproprtion in the study of the Vedic-Hindu, Buddhist and Jain tradition in that much more atterntion has been devoted to the differences between them or their specialities rather than to what is so much commonly shared by them for 2500 years. These papers can be thus looked upon as a pointer in that direction. All concerned in this laudable scholarly endeavour deserve our congratulations. H. C. Bhayani 'जैन आगम साहित्य" के विशेष अभ्यासकी आवश्यकता को देखते हुए गुजरात युनिवर्सिटी के भाषा साहित्य भवन के प्राकृत-पालि विभाग के अध्यक्ष डॉ. के.आर.चन्द्रने डायरेक्टर के रूप में यू.जी.सी.की आर्थिक सहायता से "जैन आगम संगोष्ठी का आयोजन 1986 के ऑक्टोबर माहकी ता. 16 से 18 तक किया था। यह ग्रंथ संगोष्ठीमें प्रस्तुत लेखों का सूझबूझ के साथ किये गये चयन, संकलन और संपादन का सुफल है। इस पुस्तककी विशेषता यह है कि इसमें केवल जैन विद्या के निष्णातों द्वारा लिखे गये लेखों का ही संग्रह नहीं है किन्तु विद्या के विविध क्षेत्रों के निष्णातों द्वारा लिखे गये लेख भी हैं। आगमों की मीमांसा अनेक द्रष्टियों से संभव है यह प्रस्तुत पुस्तक ने दिखा दिया है। इसमें आचार्य श्री तुलसी, उनके शिष्य महाप्रज्ञ श्री युवाचार्यजी, डॉ. जगदीशचन्द्र जैन, प्रा. मधुसूदन ढांकी जैसे जैन विद्या के निष्णातों के लेख तो हैं ही साथ ही साथ अंतरीक्ष वैज्ञानिक डॉ. पोखरणा, स्थापत्य कला के निष्णात डॉ. आर.एन.महेता जैसे विद्वानों के लेख भी हैं। यह पुस्तक आगमों के अध्ययन के लिए एक नयी दिशा प्रस्तुत कर रही है। पचभूषण पं. दलसुख मालवणिया Bain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
