त्रिपञ्चाशत्तमः सर्गः अथाभ्युदयमभ्येते हरिदश्वे हराविव । परालङ्घयमहातेजः' प्रसाधितहरिन्मुखे ॥१॥ कृतेषु व्रणभङ्गेपु प्रवीराणामितोऽमुतः । संस्कारेषु तथान्त्येषु जरासन्धादिभूभृताम् ॥२॥ आस्थाने ते यथास्थानं समुद्रविजयादयः । राजानो हरिणासीना वसुदेवागमोन्मुखाः ॥३॥ किमयं क्षेमवार्ता नो नाद्याप्यान दुन्दुभेः । सपुत्रनप्तृकस्यादि गतस्यति हि खैचरम् ॥४॥ इत्यन्योन्याश्रितालापास्ते नृपा यावदासते । धेनुवत्ससमस्वान्ता बालवृद्धपुरःसराः ॥५॥ तावदुद्योतिताशास्ता विद्याधर्यः खविद्युतः । वेगवत्या सहागय नागवध्वा कृताशिषः ॥६॥ 'जारद्य कृतार्था वो गुरुदत्ताशिषोऽखिलाः । सुतेन मागधो ध्वस्तो यच्च पित्रा नमश्चराः ॥७॥ सपुत्रनप्तृकः क्षेमी क्षेमिणां प्रणयी स वः । यथाज्येष्ठं नमस्यध्रीन् सुतानाश्लेषयत्यपि ॥८॥ इति श्रुत्वा प्रमोदेन ते प्रकृष्टतनूरुहाः । पप्रच्छुः खेचरास्तेन विजिताः कथमित्यमूः ॥९॥ ऊचे वनवती देवी वसुदेवहितोद्यता । श्रयतां वसुदेवस्य रणे सामर्थ्य मित्यसौ ॥२०॥ गत्वा स विजयार्धादि श्वसुरस्यालपूर्वकः । एकीभूय खगैः खेटानरुणगणदक्षिणः ॥१६॥ समग्रबलयुक्तास्ते ततस्तेन पुरस्कृताः । रणे मागधसाहाय्यं विरहय्य युधि स्थिताः ॥१२॥
__ अथानन्तर दूसरे दिन, शत्रुओंके द्वारा अलंध्य महातेजके द्वारा दिशाओंके मुखको अलंकृत करनेवाले कृष्णके समान जब सूर्य उदयको प्राप्त हुआ तब इधर यादवोंकी सेनामें सुभटोंके घाव अच्छे किये गये और उधर जरासन्ध आदि राजाओंके अन्तिम संस्कार सम्पन्न किये गये ॥१-२॥ एक दिन समुद्रविजय आदि राजा, सभामण्डपमें कृष्णके साथ यथास्थान बैठे हुए वसुदेवके आग. मनकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे ॥३॥ वे परस्परमें चर्चा कर रहे थे कि पुत्र और नातियोंके साथ विजयाधं पर्वतपर गये हुए वसुदेवको बहुत समय हो गया पर आज तक उनकी कुशलताका समाचार क्यों नहीं आया ? ॥४॥ इस प्रकार जो परस्पर वार्तालाप कर रहे थे, जिनके हृदय गाय और बछड़ेके समान स्नेहसे सराबोर थे एवं जो बालक और वृद्धजनोंसे युक्त थे ऐसे सब राजा यथास्थान बैठे ही थे कि उसी समय आकाशमें चमकती हुई बिजलीके समान, अपने उद्योत से दिशाओंको प्रकाशित करनेवाली अनेक विद्याधरियां वेगवतो नागकुमारीके साथ वहां आ पहुंची और आशीर्वाद देती हुई कहने लगी कि आप लोगोंको गुरुजनोंने जो आशीर्वाद दिये थे वे आज सब सफल हो गये। इधर पुत्रने जरासन्धको नष्ट किया है तो उधर पिताने विद्याधरोंको नष्ट कर दिया है ।।५-७॥ पुत्र और नातियोंसे सहित तथा आप लोगोंके स्नेहसे युक्त वसुदेव अच्छी तरह हैं और अपनेसे ज्येष्ठ जनोंके चरणोंमें प्रणाम और पुत्रोंके प्रति आलिंगनका सन्देश कह रहे हैं ॥८॥ विद्याधरियोंके मुख से यह समाचार सुनकर हर्षकी अधिकतासे जिनके रोमांच निकल आये थे ऐसे सब राजाओंने उनसे पूछा कि वसुदेवने विद्याधरोंको किस प्रकार जीता था? ॥९॥ यह सून वसूदेवके हित करने में उद्यत रहनेवाली नागकुमारी देवीने कहा कि वसुदेवने रणमें जो सामर्थ्य दिखायी उसे ध्यानसे सुनिए ॥१०॥ युद्ध में निपुण वसुदेवने विजयाधं पर्वतपर जाकर अपने श्वसुर और साले आदि विद्याधरोंसे मिलकर यहाँ आनेवाले विद्याधरोंको रोका ॥११॥ तदनन्तर समग्र सेनासे युक्त उन विद्याधरोंका जब वसुदेवने रणमें सामना किया तो वे जरासन्धकी सहायता छोड़कर स्वयं युद्ध में संलग्न हो गये ।। ६२ ।। १. महत्तेजः म.। २. व्रजभञ्ष म., ख.। ३. तथान्येषु म., क.। ४. जग्म-म। ५. धनवत ६. हितोद्यताः म.। ७. युक्तांस्ते म. As they conversed, their hearts filled with love like a cow for her calf, and surrounded by children and elders, the sky lit up with the brilliance of numerous Vidyadharis, led by the swift Nagakumari. They arrived, showering blessings and declaring that the blessings of their Gurus had been fulfilled. Their son had vanquished Jarasandha, and their father had defeated the Vidyadharis.

Vasudeva, accompanied by his sons and grandsons, was well and sending his regards to his elders, bowing to them and embracing his sons.

Hearing this news, the kings, their hearts filled with joy, their bodies trembling with excitement, asked the Vidyadharis how Vasudeva had conquered them.

The Nagakumari, devoted to the welfare of Vasudeva, replied, "Listen carefully to the prowess Vasudeva displayed in battle."

Vasudeva, skilled in warfare, went to Vijayadhan and, uniting with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, the Vidyadharis, stopped the Vidyadharis who were coming here.

Then, with his entire army, Vasudeva confronted the Vidyadharis in battle. They, abandoning their support for Jarasandha, engaged in combat.
