न रागो न च विद्वेषो न मोहो न च शून्यता । मुनेरिव ममामीषु जातोपेक्षा कुतोऽप्यहो ॥३७॥ यद्यमीभ्यः परः कोऽपि विधिना मे विधित्सितः । वरस्तं दर्शयत्वद्य विधिरेव जगद्गुरुः ॥ ३८ ॥ तद्वचोऽनन्तरं कन्या शुश्राव पणवध्वनिम् । श्रव्यं श्रवणमार्गेण गत्वा चेतोऽतिकर्षिणम् ॥३९॥ इतः पश्य वरारोहे ! स्वन्मनोहरणक्षमम् । राजहंसमिति स्पष्टं बमाण पणवः स हि ॥ ४० ॥ परावृत्य ततः कन्या पश्यन्ती सा व्यलोकत । राजलक्षणसंयुक्तं वसुदेवं 'वसूपमम् ॥४१॥ अन्योन्य दृष्टिसंपात निशातेशर संपदा । मनो मनसिजश्चक्रे ततो जर्जरितं तयोः ।। ४२ ।। आसाद्य सा ततस्तस्य भूषणस्वनहारिणी । कण्ठे कण्ठगुणं चक्रे स्तनचक्रेण संनता ॥४३॥ मञ्चस्थस्योपकण्ठेऽस्य समासीना व्यराजत । रोहिणी हारिणी तारा रोहिणीव कलावतः ॥ ४५ ॥ नवसंगम संजातसाध्वसेन सकम्पना । कन्या सा स्वाङ्गसंगेन तस्याङ्गसुखमाहरत् ||४५ || तं स्वयंवरमालोक्य केचिदूचुरिदं नृपाः । जातोऽनुरूपयोर्योगो रत्नकाञ्चनयोरिव || ४६ || अहो नैपुण्यमेतस्याः कन्याया यदयं नृपः । कोऽपि गूढकुलः श्रीमान् प्रधानपुरुषो वृत्तः ||४७ | मात्सर्योपहतास्त्वन्ये जगुः पाणविकं वरम् । कुर्वन्त्या पश्यतात्यन्तमन्यायः कन्यया कृतः ||४८|| परामृतिमिमां राज्ञां नैव युक्तमुपेक्षितुम् । सर्वदातिप्रसंगः स्यादेवं सति महीतले || ४९|| कुलीनानां समाजेऽस्मिन् परस्यावसरोऽस्य कः । वक्तु वा वक्तुकामश्चेत्कुलीनः कुलमात्मनः ||५०|| न चेदेवं करोत्येष कोऽपि नीचान्वयोद्भवः । कुट्यतां राजपुत्रस्य कन्याप्यस्त्विह कस्यचित् ॥५१॥
राजाओंपर मुझे न राग है, न द्वेष है, न मोह है और न शून्यता है । अहो ! मुनिके समान मेरी इन सबपर किसी कारणसे उपेक्षा हो गयी है ||३७|| यदि विधाताने इन सबसे बढ़कर कोई दूसरा वर मेरे लिए बनाना चाहा है तो जगत्का गुरु विधाता ही आज उस वरको दिखलावे ||३८|| इतना कहने के बाद ही कन्याने, कणं मार्गसे भीतर जाकर चित्तको खींचनेवाली पणवकी मधुर ध्वनि सुनी ||३९|| वह ध्वनि मानो स्पष्ट रूपसे यही कह रही थी कि हे सुन्दरि ! तुम्हारे मनको हरण करनेवाला राजहंस इधर बैठा है, अतः इस ओर देखो ||४०|| तदनन्तर ज्योंही कन्याने मुड़कर उस ओर देखा, त्यों ही उसे राजलक्षणोंसे युक्त कुबेरके समान वसुदेव दिखे ||४१ | | उसी क्षण कामदेवने परस्पर दृष्टि सम्मिश्रणरूप तीक्ष्ण बाणों की सम्पदासे दोनोंका मन जर्जरित कर दिया ||४२|| तदनन्तर जो आभूषणोंके शब्दसे अतिशय मनोहर जान पड़ती थी और स्तनचक्रके भारसे नीचे की ओर झुक रही थी ऐसी रोहिणीने पास जाकर वसुदेवके गलेमें माला डाल दी ||४३|| मंचपर आसीन वसुदेवके समीप बैठी हुई रोहिणी, चन्द्रमाके समीप स्थित रोहिणी ताराके समान मनोहर जान पड़ती थी ||४४|| नवीन समागमसे उत्पन्न भयके कारण जिसका शरीर कुछ-कुछ काँप रहा था ऐसी रोहिणीने अपने शरीरके स्पशंसे वसुदेवके शरीरको सुख उत्पन्न कराया ||४५|| उस स्वयंवरको देखकर कितने ही राजा यह कहने लगे कि अहो ! जिस प्रकार रत्न और सुवर्णका संयोग होता है उसी प्रकार यह दोनों योग्य वरवधूका संयोग हुआ है ||४६ || अहो ! इस कन्याकी चतुराई देखो कि जिसने छिपे कुलसे युक्त लक्ष्मी-सम्पन्न एवं प्रधान पुरुषरूप इस किसी अनिवर्चनीय राजाको वरा है || ४७|| मात्सर्यसे पीड़ित अन्य राजा लोग यह कह रहे थे कि देखो पणववादकको वर बनाती हुई कन्याने यह बड़ा अन्याय किया है ||४८ || राजाओं को इस पराभवकी उपेक्षा करना उचित नहीं है क्योंकि ऐसा होनेसे तो पृथिवीतलपर सदा अतिप्रसंग होने लगेगा - कुल मर्यादाकी सब व्यवस्था ही भंग हो जायेगी ||४९ || कुलीन मनुष्योंकी इस सभा में इस अकुलीन मनुष्यका असर ही क्या था ? अथवा यह कुलीन है और अपना कुल बताना चाहता है तो बतावे ||१०|| यदि यह ऐसा नहीं करता है-अपना कुल १. 'वसुर्मयूखाग्निधनाधिपेषु' इति वैजयन्ती । २. तीक्ष्ण । ३. चन्द्रस्य । ४. -रिमं म ।

Then, Rohini, who was adorned with ornaments and seemed to be bending down under the weight of her breasts, approached Vasudeva and placed a garland around his neck. ||43||

Other kings, consumed by envy, said, "Look, the princess has done a great injustice by choosing the Panava player as her groom." ||48||
"It is not right for the kings to ignore this defeat, because if this happens, there will always be chaos on earth, and all the rules of lineage will be broken." ||49||
"What influence does this non-noble man have in this assembly of noble people? Or, if he is noble and wants to reveal his lineage, let him do so." ||50||
