धिग जन्तोः परतन्त्रस्य सुखानुभवनस्पृहाम् । पराराधनसक्तस्य यन्मनः सतताकुलम् ॥५४॥ यत्स्वतन्त्राभिमानस्य सुखं तदपि किं सुखम् । स्वकर्मपरतन्त्रस्य भोगतृष्णाकुलात्मनः ॥ ५५ ॥ आत्माधीनं यदत्यन्तमात्माधीनस्य यत्सुखम् । नेन्द्रियार्थपराधीनं पराधीनस्य कर्मभिः ॥५६॥ नानन्तेनापि कालेन नृसुरासुरभोगकैः । तृप्तिर्जीवस्य संसारे नद्योचैरिव वारिधेः ॥५७॥ महाबलस्य विद्येशो ललिताङ्गस्य नाकिनः । वज्रजङ्घनरेन्द्रस्य तथोत्तरकुरुस्थितेः ॥ ५८ ॥ श्रीधरस्य सुरेशस्य सुविधेरच्युतस्थितेः । वज्रनाभेश्व सर्वार्थसिद्धिदेवस्य पश्यतः ॥ ५९ ॥ न तृतिस्तेरभूद् भोगैर्दिव्यैश्विरनिषेवितैः । यस्य तस्याद्य किं सा स्यात् सुलभैर्विपुलैरपि ॥ ६०|| तस्मात् सांसारिकं सौख्यं त्यक्त्वान्ते दुःखदूषितम् । मोक्षसौख्यपरिप्राप्त्यै प्रविशामि तपोवनम् ॥ ६१ ॥ त्रिज्ञानोपचितो राज्ये स्थितोऽहमितरो यथा । कालोपेक्षणमेतद्धि कालो हि दुरतिक्रमः ॥ ६२ ॥ ज्ञातपूर्वभवे तस्मिन्निति ध्यानपरे जिने । ब्रह्मलोकालया ज्ञात्वा लौकान्तिकसुरास्तदा ||६३ ॥ कुर्वाणश्चन्द्रसंकाशाश्रन्दाकीर्णमिवाम्बरम् । नत्वा सारस्वतादित्यप्रमुखाः प्रोचुरीश्वरम् ॥ ६४ ॥ साधु नाथ ! यथाख्यातं स्वपरार्थहितं तथा । क्रियतां वर्तते कालो धर्मतीर्थप्रवर्तने ॥६५॥ चतुर्गतिमहादुर्गे दिग्मूढस्य प्रभो दृढम् । मार्ग दर्शय लोकस्य मोक्षस्थानप्रवेशकम् ॥६६॥ विच्छिन्न संप्रदायस्य मन्त्रस्येव चिरं प्रभो । सिद्धिमार्गस्य विश्वेश ! कुरु द्योतनमुद्यतः ॥६७॥

परन्तु यह भ्रान्तिवश ऐसा मान रही है ।। ५२-५३ ॥ पराधीन प्राणीकी जो सुखोपभोगकी इच्छा है उसे धिक्कार है क्योंकि पराधीन मनुष्यका मन निरन्तर आकुल रहता है ||५४ || और अपने आपको स्वतन्त्र माननेवालेका जो सुख है वह भी क्या सुख है ? क्योंकि वह भी तो अपने कर्मों के परतन्त्र है तथा भोगों की तृष्णासे उसकी आत्मा व्याकुल रहती है ||५५ || आत्माधीन मनुष्यका जो सुख है वह आत्मा के ही आधीन होनेसे अन्तातीत है और कर्माधीन मनुष्यका सुख इन्द्रियविषयों के आधीन होनेसे अन्तातीत नहीं है ||५६ || जिस प्रकार नदियोंके प्रवाहसे समुद्रकी तृप्ति नहीं होती उसी प्रकार इस संसार में मनुष्य सुर तथा असुरोंके सुखोंसे अनन्तकालमें भी जीवको तृप्ति नहीं हो सकती ॥५७॥ | मैं पहले विद्याधरोंका राजा महाबल था, फिर ललितांग देव हुआ, फिर वज्रजंघ राजा हुआ, फिर उत्तरकुरुमें आर्य हुआ, फिर श्रीधर देव हुआ, फिर सुविधि राजा हुआ, फिर अच्युतेन्द्र हुआ, फिर वज्रनाभि हुआ और फिर सर्वार्थसिद्धिका देव हुआ । चिरकाल तक भोगे हुए उन दिव्य भोगोंसे जिसे उस समय तृप्ति नहीं हुई उसे आज भले ही जो सुलभ और अधिक हों इन भोगोंसे क्या तृप्ति हो सकती है ? ।। ५८- ६० ।। इसलिए जो अन्तमें दुःखसे दूषित है ऐसे सांसारिक सुखको छोड़कर मैं मोक्ष सुखकी प्राप्ति के लिए तपोवनमें प्रवेश करता हूँ ॥ ६१ ॥ हाय, मैं मति, श्रुत और अवधि इन तीन ज्ञानोंसे युक्त होकर भी साधारण मनुष्य के समान राज्यमें स्थित रहा; यह मेरी समयकी उपेक्षा ही है अर्थात् मैंने व्यर्थं बीतते हुए समयकी ओर दृष्टि नहीं दी । यथार्थ में समयका उल्लंघन करना कठिन है - जिस समय जो जैसा होनेवाला है वैसा ही होता है ||६२ ॥ पूर्वं भवोंको जाननेवाले जिनेन्द्र भगवान् जब इस प्रकारका ध्यान कर रहे थे तब ब्रह्मलोक के वासी सारस्वत, आदित्य आदि लोकान्तिक देव यह ज्ञात कर यहाँ आये । वे चन्द्रमाके समान थे अतः आकाशको चन्द्रमाओंसे व्याप्त जैसा करते हुए आये और नमस्कार कर भगवान् से बोले ||६३-६४ ।। हे नाथ ! ठीक है, जिससे स्वपर कल्याण हो वही कीजिए । धर्म- तीर्थंके प्रवर्तनका यही समय है ||६५ || हे प्रभो ! यह संसार चतुर्गतिरूप महावन में दिशाभ्रान्त हो रहा है इसे आप मोक्ष-स्थान में प्रवेश करानेवाला मार्ग दिखलाइए || ६६ || हे प्रभो ! हे जगदीश्वर ! मन्त्रकी तरह

**58.** I was formerly the king of the Vidyadharas, Mahabala; then I became Lalitanga Deva; then I became the king of Vajrajangha; then I became an Arya in Uttarakuru; then I became Shridhara Deva; then I became the king of Suvidhi; then I became Achyutendra; then I became Vajranabhi; and then I became the god of Sarvarthasiddhi.

**59.** Even after enjoying those divine pleasures for a long time, I was not satisfied. What satisfaction can I have now from these easily available and abundant pleasures?

**60.** Therefore, abandoning this worldly happiness, which is ultimately tainted by sorrow, I enter the forest of penance for the attainment of the happiness of liberation.

**61.** Alas, I, endowed with the three knowledges of Mati, Shruta, and Avadhi, remained in the kingdom like an ordinary man. This is my neglect of time, that is, I did not pay attention to the passing of time. In reality, it is difficult to transgress time - whatever is going to happen at a particular time, happens at that time.

**62.** When the Jina, who knows past lives, was meditating in this way, the celestial beings of the Brahma-loka, Sarasvata, Aditya, etc., came to know about it and came here. They were like the moon, so they came making the sky appear as if it were filled with moons. They bowed down and said to the Lord:

**63-64.** "O Lord! It is good, do whatever brings about the welfare of yourself and others. This is the time for the establishment of the Dharma-tirtha."

**65.** "O Lord! This world is wandering in the great forest of the four paths. Show it the path that leads to the abode of liberation."

**66.** "O Lord! O Lord of the Universe! Like a mantra that has been broken, the path of liberation has been obscured for a long time. Please shine your light on it."
