आयेषु त्रिषु कालेषु कल्पवृक्षविभूषिता । मोगभूमिरियं भूमि गभूमिस्तु भारती ॥६॥ युग्मधर्मभुजो मूत्वा तेषामादौ जगत्प्रजाः । षट्चतुर्द्विसहस्राणि धनू षि वपुषोच्छ्रिताः ॥६५॥ आयस्त्रिद्वयकपल्यैस्तु तुल्यं तासां यथाक्रमम् । देवोत्तरकुरुक्षेत्रहरिहमवतेष्विव ॥६६॥ प्रोद्यदादिस्यवर्णामाः पूर्णचन्द्रसमप्रमाः । प्रियङ्गश्यामवर्णाश्च तेषु स्त्रीपुरुषास्त्रिषु ॥६७॥
पृष्ठकाण्डकसंख्यानं षट्पञ्चाशं शतद्वयम् । अष्टाविंशं शतं तेषां चतुःषष्टिर्यथाक्रमम् ॥६॥ दिव्यं बदरतन्मात्रमक्षमात्रं च भोजनम् । तथाऽमलकमात्र च चतुस्विद्विदिनैस्विष ॥१९॥ तस्त्रिकालनियोगेन धरित्रीय नियन्त्रिता । त्रिभेदानां तदादत्ते नित्यमोगभुवां स्थितिम् ॥७॥ रत्नप्रभा यथा माति पृथिवीयमवस्थितैः । एषा तथा स्फुरद्रत्नपटलैरुपरिस्थितैः ॥७॥ इन्द्रनीलादिभिर्नीलैः कृष्णैर्जात्यञ्जनादिमिः । पद्मरागादिकैः रक्तैः पीतैहैंमादिमिः परैः ॥७२॥ श्वेतैर्मुक्तादिमि मिर्मयूखाक्रान्तदिङ्मुखैः । पञ्चवर्णैश्चिता रत्नैः स्वर्गभूरिव शोभते ॥७३॥ चन्द्रकान्तशिलाऽस्योर्वी विद्रुमाधरपल्लवा । ललनेव तदाऽऽभाति रत्नकाञ्चनकन्चुका ॥७॥ चन्द्रकान्तांशवः शीताः सूर्यकान्तांशवोऽन्यथा । विश्लिष्यन्त्यत्र नाश्लिष्टाः शीतोष्णव्यथिता इव ॥७५॥
मिलकर कल्प काल कहलाते हैं। इन दोनों कालोंके समय भरत-ऐरावत क्षेत्रमें पदार्थोंकी स्थिति हानि और वृद्धिको लिये हुए होती है। इन दो क्षेत्रोंके सिवाय अन्य क्षेत्रोंमें पदार्थों की स्थिति हानिवृद्धिसे रहित-अवस्थित है ॥६३।। प्रारम्भके तीन कालोंमें भरत क्षेत्रकी यह भूमि भोगभूमि कहलाती है जो कि यथार्थमें नाना प्रकारके भोगोंकी भूमि-स्थान भी है ॥६४॥ उन तीनों कालोंके प्रारम्भमें मनुष्य क्रमसे छह हजार, चार हजार और दो हजार धनुष ऊंचे रहते थे तथा स्त्री-पुरुषोंकी उत्पत्ति युगल रूपमें-साथ ही साथ होती थी ॥६५॥ उस समय उनकी आयु देवकुरु, उत्तरकुरु, हरिवर्ष तथा हैमवत क्षेत्रके मनुष्योंके समान क्रमसे तीन पल्य, दो पल्य और एक पल्यके तुल्य होती थी ॥६६॥ उन तीन कालोंमें स्त्री-पुरुष क्रमसे उदित होते हुए सूर्यके समान, पूर्णचन्द्रके समान और प्रियंगु पुष्पके समान आभावाले होते थे ॥६७॥ उनकी पीठको हड्डियोंकी संख्या पहले कालमें दो सौ छप्पन, दूसरे कालमें एक सौ अट्ठाईस और तीसरे कालमें चौसठ थी ॥६८।। उनका पहले कालमें चार दिनके अन्तरसे बेरके बराबर, दूसरे कालमें दो दिनके अन्तरसे बहेड़ाके बराबर और तीसरे कालमें दो दिनके अन्तरसे आँवलेके बराबर दिव्यकल्पवृक्षोत्पन्न आहार होता था ॥६९।। उन तीन कालोंके नियोगसे नियन्त्रित यह भारतवर्षको भूमि उस समय क्रमशः तीन प्रकारको स्थायी भोगभूमियोंकी रीतिको ग्रहण करती थी अर्थात उस समय यहाँको व्यवस्था शाश्वती उत्तम, मध्यम और जघन्य भोगभूमियोंके समान थी ॥७०॥ जिस प्रकार रत्नप्रभा पृथिवी, स्थायी लगे हुए रत्नोंके पटलोंसे सुशोभित है उसी प्रकार भरत क्षेत्रको यह भूमि भी उस समय ऊपर स्थित देदीप्यमान रत्नोंके पटलोंसे सुशोभित होती है ॥७१।। अपनी किरणोंसे दिशाओंको व्याप्त करनेवाले इन्द्रनील आदि नीलमणि, जात्यंजन आदि कृष्णमणि, पद्मराग आदि कालमणि, हैम आदि पीले मणि और मुक्ता आदि सफेद मणि इस प्रकार पाँच वर्णके मणियोंसे व्याप्त हुई यह भूमि उस समय स्वर्गभूमिके समान सुशोभित हो रही थी ॥७२-७३॥ चन्द्रकान्तमणि जिसका मुख था, मूंगा जिसके ओठ थे तथा रत्न और स्वर्ण जिसकी चोली थे ऐसी यह भमि उस समय किसी स्त्रीके समान सुशोभित होती थी।७४॥ चन्द्रकान्त मणिकी किरणें शीतल होती हैं और सूर्यकान्त मणिकी उष्ण । परन्तु यहाँ दोनों ही एक दूसरेसे मिलकर अलग-अलग नहीं होती थीं जिससे ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो चन्द्रकान्तकी किरणें ठण्डसे पीड़ित थीं इसलिए सूर्यकान्तको उष्ण किरणोंको नहीं छोड़ना चाहती थीं और १. पृष्ठास्थिचयानां संख्या एतेन पदेन वेदितव्या ।

The rays of the Chandrakant gem are cool, while those of the Suryakant gem are hot. But here, they were not separate from each other, so it seemed as if the cool rays of the Chandrakant were suffering from the cold and did not want to leave the hot rays of the Suryakant. ||75||

The Kalpa and Kala combine to form time. During this time, in the Bharata and Airavata regions, the state of matter is subject to loss and growth. In other regions, the state of matter is free from loss and growth. ||63||
