पञ्चमः सर्गः
हिमवरकटतुल्यानि तानि कूटानि शोभया। आदिमध्यान्त विस्तारैरुच्छायेण च चारुणा ॥१०॥ तथैरावतमध्यस्थविजयार्द्धस्य मूर्धनि । हठन्ते नवकूटानि सुरत्नमणिसंकटैः ॥१०९॥ सिद्धायतनकूटं स्यादुत्तरार्धाभिधानकम् । तामिस्रगुहकूटं च मणिभद्रमतः परम् ॥११०॥ विजयार्धकुमाराख्यं पूर्णभद्राख्यमप्यतः । खण्डकादिप्रपातं च दक्षिणा च नामतः ॥१११॥ नवमं तु तथाख्यातं कूटं वैश्रवणश्रुतिः । तानि सर्वाणि तुल्यानि मारतीयैः प्रमाणतः ॥११२॥ पूर्वापरायतानां हि षण्णां तत्कुलभूभृताम् । सप्तक्षेत्रविमक्तणामेकैकस्योभयान्तयोः ।।११३।। सर्वर्तुकुसुमाकीर्णफलभारनतद्रुमैः । हारिणों पक्षिसंघातमधुकृन्मधुरस्वनैः ॥११॥ अर्द्धयोजनविस्तौँ विचित्रमणिवेदिको । भवतो वनखण्डौ द्वौ पर्वतायामसम्मितौ ।।११५॥ अर्धयोजनमानस्तु वेदिकोत्सेध इष्यते । वेदकैप्सतत्त्वस्य व्यासः पञ्चधनुःशती ॥११६॥ सुरत्नपरिणामानि नानावर्णानि सर्वतः । वेदिकोचितदेशेष तोरणानि भवन्ति च ॥११७॥ भूभृतामुपरि ज्ञेया सर्वतः पद्मवेदिका। मणिरत्नमयी दिव्या गव्यूतिद्वयमुच्छ्रिता ॥१८॥ गृहद्वीपसमुद्राणां भूनदीहदभूभृताम् । वेदिकोत्सेधविस्तारौ तिर्यग्लोके स्थिताविमौ ॥११९॥ तेषां तु मध्यदेशेषु पूर्वापरसमायताः । षामहाकुलशैलानां षड महान्तो हदाः स्थिताः ।।१२०॥ पद्मश्चापि महापद्मस्तिगिञ्छः केसरी हृदः । सुमहापुण्डरीकश्च पुण्डरीकश्च नामतः ।।१२१॥ चतुर्दश विनिर्गस्य सरितः पूर्वसागरम् । तेभ्यो विशम्ति सप्तव सप्तवापरसागरम् ।।१२२॥
८ रक्तवती कट. ९ गन्धदेवी कट. १०ऐरावत कट और ११ मणिकांचन कट। ये सब कट शोभा. मल-मध्य और अन्त सम्बन्धी विस्तार तथा सन्दर ऊँचाईसे हिमवत पर्वतके कटोंके समान हैं ॥१०५-१०८॥ ऐरावत क्षेत्रके मध्य में जो विजयाध पर्वत है उसके अग्रभाग पर भी नौ कूट हैं जो कि उत्तमोत्तम रत्न तथा मणियोंके समूहसे देदीप्यमान हो रहे हैं। उन कूटोंके नाम इस प्रकार हैं-१ सिद्धायतन कूट, २ उत्तराधं कूट, ३ तामिस्रगुह कूट, ४ मणिभद्र कूट, ५ विजयाधं कुमार कूट, ६ पूर्णभद्र कूट, ७ खण्डकप्रपात कूट, ८ दक्षिणाधं कूट और ९ वैश्रवण कूट। ये सब कूट प्रमाणको अपेक्षा भरत क्षेत्र सम्बन्धी विजयार्धपर स्थित कटोंके तुल्य हैं ॥१०९-११२|| सात क्षेत्रोंका विभाग करनेवाले तथा पूर्वसे पश्चिम तक लम्बे जिन छह कुलाचलोंका वर्णन पहले कर आये हैं उनमें से प्रत्येकके दोनों अन्त भागमें वनखण्ड सुशोभित हैं। ये वनखण्ड समस्त ऋतुओंके फूलोंसे भरे तथा फलोंके भारसे नम्रीभूत वृक्षों और पक्षिसमूह तथा भ्रमरोंके मधुर शब्दोंसे मनोहर हैं, आधा योजन विस्तृत हैं, चित्र-विचित्र मणियोंकी वेदिकाओंसे सहित हैं और पर्वतको लम्बाईके बराबर हैं ॥११३-१५५॥ व्यास-विस्तारके रहस्यको जाननेवाले आचार्योंने इन वनखण्डोंको वेदिकाकी ऊँचाई आधा योजन और चौड़ाई पांच सौ धनुष बतलायी है ।।११६|| वेदिकाओंके ऊपर योग्य स्थानों पर चारों ओर उत्तमोत्तम रत्नोंसे निर्मित नाना रंगके तोरण हैं ॥११७।। कुलाचलोंके ऊपर चारों ओर मणि तथा रत्नोंसे बनी हुई दिव्य तथा दो कोश ऊंची पद्म-वेदिका है ।।११८|| मध्य लोकमें गृह, द्वीप, समुद्र, पृथिवी, नदी, ह्रद और पर्वतोंकी जो वेदिकाएँ हैं उनकी ऊँचाई और विस्तार भी इसी प्रकार समझना चाहिए अर्थात् सबकी ऊंचाई आधा योजन और चौड़ाई पाँच सौ धनुष हैं ।।११९॥
___ उक्त छह महाकुलाचलोंके मध्यभागमें पूर्वसे पश्चिम तक लम्बे छह विशाल सरोवर हैं ।।१२०।। उनके नाम इस प्रकार हैं-१ पद्म, २ महापद्म, ३ तिगिछ, ४ केसरी, ५ महापुण्डरीक और ६ पुण्डरीक ॥१२१॥ उन सरोवरोंसे चौदह नदियाँ निकली हैं जिनमें सात तो पूर्व

These peaks, resembling the snowy peaks of the Himalayas, are beautiful in their appearance. They are adorned with their length, breadth, and height, and are charming in their splendor. ||10||

Similarly, on the summit of the Vijayardha mountain, situated in the middle of the Airawat region, nine peaks stand tall, adorned with clusters of precious gems and jewels. ||109||

The Siddhayatan peak is known as the Uttaraardha, and the Tamisraguha peak is situated beyond it. ||110||

The Vijayardha Kumara peak and the Purnabhadra peak are also situated beyond it. The Khandakadiprapaata peak and the Dakshinaardha peak are also named. ||111||

The ninth peak is known as the Vaishravana peak. All these peaks are equal in size, according to the standards of the Bharat Kshetra. ||112||

Each of the six Kulachala mountains, which extend from east to west and divide the seven regions, has two forest tracts at both ends. ||113||

These forest tracts are adorned with trees laden with flowers of all seasons and fruits, and are filled with the sweet sounds of deer, birds, and bees. They are half a yojana in extent, adorned with various jewel-studded platforms, and are equal in length to the mountain. ||114-115||

The wise ones, who know the secrets of the universe, have declared that the height of these platforms is half a yojana and their width is five hundred dhanus. ||116||

On the platforms, at suitable places, there are toranas made of various precious gems and jewels, in various colors. ||117||

Above the Kulachala mountains, there is a divine lotus platform, made of gems and jewels, and rising to a height of two kosas. ||118||

In the middle world, the platforms of houses, islands, oceans, earth, rivers, lakes, and mountains should be understood in the same way, i.e., their height is half a yojana and their width is five hundred dhanus. ||119||

In the middle of these six great Kulachala mountains, there are six large lakes, extending from east to west. ||120||

Their names are: Padma, Mahapadma, Tigincha, Kesari, Mahapuṇḍarīka, and Puṇḍarīka. ||121||

From these lakes, fourteen rivers flow, seven towards the eastern ocean and seven towards the western ocean. ||122||
