A SOURCE-BOOK IN JAINA PHILOSOPHY
enabling us to stop the influx of the karmas. Nirjarā has two aspects : dravyanirjarā which expresses itself in ta pa (austerities) and bhāvanirjarā which is the psychic foundation for the practice of austerities. The bandha (bondage) has also been considered from two points of view i.e., dravyabandha which is the kārmic bondage and bhāvabandha which is expressed in the psychic expressions like emotions etc. The highest state of dravyamokşa is a state where all the karmas are removed and bhāvamokṣa is a state of perfect bliss and perfect peace of ātman.
