यद्वदुपयुक्त पूर्वमपि भैषजं सेव्यतेऽर्तिनाशाय । तद्वद्वागार्तिहरं बहुशोऽप्यनुयोज्यमर्थपदम् || १४ |
Just as medicine used previously is also again used for annihilation of disease, similarly, meanings of words (of Jinas ) should be used repeatedly to distroy the disease of attachment. 14.
वृत्त्यर्थं कर्म यथा तदेव लोकः पुनः पुनः कुरुते ।
एवं विरागवार्ता हेतुरपि पुनः पुनश्चिन्त्यः ॥ १५॥
Just as men of the world perform, the same duty again and again for livelihood, similarly, (the words of Jinas and Ganadharas), the cause of detachment, should be reflected upon again and again. 15.
तामुपैति वैराग्यभावना येन येन भावेन ।
तस्मितस्मिन् कार्यः कायमनोवाग्भिरभ्यासः ।।१६।।
Whichever be the way by which the concept of detachment takes firm root, on that particular way repeated practice should be adhered to physically, mentally and vocally. 16.
माध्यस्थ्यं वैराग्यं विरागता शान्तिरुपशमः प्रशमः । दोषक्षयः कषायविजयश्च वैराग्यपर्यायाः || १७॥
प्रशमरतिप्रकरणम्
Neutrality (=being unaffected by attachment and aversion), renunciation, detachment, tranquility, calmness of mind, spiritual calmness, destruction of all blemishes (of Karmas), victory over passions, are (all) synonyms of detachment. 17.
इच्छा मूर्च्छा कामः स्नेहो गार्ध्यं ममत्वमभिनन्दः । अभिलाष इत्यनेकानि रागपर्यायवचनानि ॥१८॥
Desire, coveting ( worldly things ), desire (for wordly pleasures), affection (towards particular things ), greediness, egoism, rejoicing (in wordly success) and longing (for wordly objects) are (all) words synonymous with attachment. 18.
ईर्ष्या रोषो दोषो द्वेषः परिवादमत्सरासूयाः । वैरप्रचण्डनाद्या नैके द्वेषस्य पर्यायाः || १९॥
Envy, wrath, vices, hatred, reproach, jeolusy, indignation. enmity, excessive anger, etc. are innumerable synonyms of aversion. 19.
