प्रकाशकीय अर्द्धमागधी जैन आगम-साहित्य भारतीय संस्कृति और साहित्य की अमूल्य निधि है। दुर्भाग्य से इन ग्रन्थों के अनुवाद उपलब्ध न होने के कारण जनसाधारण और विद्वद्वर्ग दोनों ही इनसे अपरिचित हैं। आगम ग्रन्थों में अनेक प्रकीर्णक प्राचीन और अध्यात्मप्रधान होते हुए भी अप्राप्त से रहे हैं। यह हमारा सौभाग्य है कि पूज्य मुनि श्री पुण्यविजय जी द्वारा सम्पादित इन प्रकीर्णक ग्रन्थों के मूलपाठ का प्रकाशन श्री महावीर जैन विद्यालय, बम्बई से हो चुका है, किन्तु अनुवाद के अभाव में जनसाधारण के लिए ये ग्राह्य नहीं बन सके। इसी कारण जैन विद्या के विद्वानों की समन्वय समिति ने अनुदित आगम ग्रन्थों और आगमिक व्याख्याओं के अनुवाद के प्रकाशन को प्राथमिकता देने का निर्णय लिया
और इसी सन्दर्भ में प्रकीर्णकों के अनुवाद का कार्य आगम संस्थान को दिया गया। संस्थान द्वारा अब तक देवेन्द्रस्तव, तन्दुलवैचारिक एवं चन्द्रवेध्यक नामक तीन प्रकीर्णक अनुवाद सहित प्रकाशित किये जा चुके हैं।
हमें प्रसन्नता है कि संस्थान के सह शोध अधिकारी श्री सुरेश सिसोदिया ने 'महाप्रत्याख्यान-प्रकीर्णक' का अनुवाद सम्पूर्ण किया। प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थ की सुविस्तृत एवं विचारपूर्ण भूमिका संस्थान के मानद् निदेशक प्रो० सागरमल जी जैन एवं श्री सुरेश सिसोदिया ने लिखकर ग्रन्थ को पूर्णता प्रदान की है, इस हेतु हम उनके कृतज्ञ है। __हम संथान के मार्गदर्शक प्रो० कमलचन्द जी सोगानी, मानद् सह निदेशिका डॉ० सुषमा जी सिंघवी एवं मन्त्री श्री वीरेन्द्र सिंह जी लोढा के भी आभारी है, जो संस्थान के विकास में हर सम्भव सहयोग एवं मार्गदर्शन दे रहे हैं। डॉ० सुभाष कोठारी भी संस्थान की प्रकीर्णक अनुवाद योजना में संलग्न है अतः उनके प्रति भी आभारी हैं ।
प्रकाशन की इस वेला में हम पार्श्वनाथ विद्याश्रम शोध संस्थान, वाराणसी के पदाधिकारियों के प्रति भी आभार प्रकट करते हैं, जिन्होंने प्रस्तुत पुस्तक के वाराणसी मुद्रण के दौरान पर्याप्त सुविधा प्रदान कर सहयोग दिया है।

The present book has been enriched by the detailed and thoughtful introduction written by Professor Sagarmalji Jain, Honorary Director of the Institute, and Shri Suresh Sisodiya. We are grateful to them for their contribution. We are also grateful to Professor Kamalchandji Sogani, Honorary Co-Director, Dr. Sushmaji Singhavi, Honorary Co-Director, and Shri Virendra Singhji Lodha, Minister, who are providing all possible support and guidance in the development of the Institute. Dr. Subhash Kothari is also involved in the Institute's scattered text translation project, and we are grateful to him.
