The Central Philosophy of Jainism
Nāgārjuna discussed this problem at the beginning of his Vigraha-vyavartani. If the statement "everything is empty" is itself empty, then it falsifies the "Emptiness" doctrine, and if that statement is not empty, then there is at least one thing that is not empty which also falsifies the doctrine. Nāgārjuna explained this paradox and answered the objection against his doctrine quite satisfactorily from the Mādhyamika point of view.119 As far as I can see, it is not impossible to construct a similar defence of the Jaina doctrine of anekānta philosophy or syād-vāda to answer the criticism of Vyomasiva.
