જીવ-વિચાર-પ્રકાશિકા પુરાણે નાસ્તિકવાદ હવે ચાલ્યા ગયે છે. ધર્મનું વિચાર ક્ષેત્ર આત્મા તથા મન છે અને તેને કઈ પણ પ્રકારે ચલિત કરી શક્તા નથી.”
સર જે. એ. થેમસન કહે છે: “Throughout the world of animal life there are expressions of something akin to the mind in ourselves. There is from Amoeba .upwards a stream of inner and subjective life. It may be only a slender rill, but some times it is a strong current. It includes feeling, imagining, purposing. It includes unconscious. અર્થાત્ અખિલ પ્રાણીજગતમાં એવી પ્રક્રિયાઓ છે કે જે આપણા મન સાથે સંબંધ ધરાવે છે. અમીબા (વૈજ્ઞાનિક દ્રષ્ટિએ સૂક્ષ્મમાં સૂક્ષ્મ જંતુ) થી માંડીને બધા પ્રાણીઓમાં આંતરિક તથા વૈયક્તિક જીવનનું ઝરણું વહે છે. કેઈક સ્થળે તેને સ્ત્રોત પાતળે છે, તે કેઈક સ્થળે બળવાન પણ છે. તેમાં લાગણીઓ, કલ્પના, સંજ્ઞા અંતર્ગત છે. બેશુદ્ધ અવસ્થાને પણ તેમાં જ સમાવેશ થાય છે.”
' એ જ વૈજ્ઞાનિક અન્યત્ર કહે છે કે : “How did living cretaures begin to be upon the earth ? In point of science, we do not know.. અર્થાત પૃથ્વી પર જીવતાં પ્રાણીઓ શી રીતે આવ્યાં? તેને વિજ્ઞાનની દષ્ટિએ કેઈ ઉત્તર નથી.”
