INTRODUCTION
Kusalāņubamdhiajjhayana, 16 Gacchāyāraṁ, 17 Ajivakappo and 18 Sārāvalīprakirṇaka.
g. (The first manuscript bearing go sign.) This manuscript belongs to the Muni Shri Punyavijayaji Collection, one of the several collections preserved in the L. D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad. It bears the No. 1458. Some scholar has corrected it. It contains 64 folios. Folio No. 45 had been lost, hence somebody has newly written the missing text on a new folio before 150 years (i.e. round about 1834 A.D.), having connected the text of Kusalāņubamdhiajjhayana on folio No. 46. The original copyist had given numbers 56 to 74 to the folios which now bear numbers 46 to 64. This means that the copyist who has newly written folio No. 45 has corrected the numbers, giving numbers 46 to 64 to the folios that originally bore numbers 56 to 74; thus he has made the manuscript complete. Maraṇavidhi ends at the end of folio No. 44. I feel that folios No. 45 to 55 must have been lost. The folio No. 56 written by the original copyist contains the latter part of Kusalānubamdhiajjhayana. Hence the other copyist has written the former part of Kusalāņubandhiajjhayana and completed it and corrected the numbers of the folios accordingly. Thus, as pointed out earlier, the manuscript does not have folios 45 to 55 written by the original copyist. From this it follows that between Maraṇavidhi ending at the end of folio No. 44 and Kusalāņubamdhiajjhayana there must have been one or more tracts that could be contained in the missing eleven (45 to 55) folios. There are 13 lines per side and 48 to 52 letters per line. Keeping blank space in the middle of the five lines at the centre of each folio the copyist has formed a design. Though the manuscript has no colophon, we can infer from the script that it belongs to the 16th Cent. V.S. Its size is 30 x 11 cms. The twelve tracts contained in it are as follows: Devimdatthao, 2 Gaṇivijjāprakirṇaka, 3 Mahāpaccakkhāṇa, 4 Virastava, 5 Ajivakappo, 6 Gacchāyāra, 7 Maranavihi, 8 Kusalāṇubamdhiajjhayana, 9 Camdavijjhayam painnayam, 10 AuraBhaktaparijñāprakīrņaka, 12 Samthāraya
