philosophy, has been shouldering the responsibility of the Agama Publication work of the Mahavira Jaina Vidyalaya. He has inspired me to ponder over certain knotty places in this edition. Moreover, he has given me important information even in my short meeting with him. For all this I am extremely grateful to him.
Rev. Pam. Pradyumnavijayaji had gone through Sanskrit Content of this work before it was given to the Press for printing. Moreover, he corrected proofs of this content and made useful suggestions. Rev. Pam. Nityanandvijayaji helped me select some readings of the Titthogalāya included in this volume. I express my gratefulness towards these two venerable saints for their kind cooperation and help.
1. Pt. Shri Dalsukhbhai Malvania, a profound scholar of Indian philosophy and ex-director (now Hon. Adviser) of the L.D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad, corrected proofs of the formats 14-18 (pp. 209-288) till the print order, as my left eye was operated then. Again, he read the draft of this Prastāvanā and made useful suggestions. 2. Shri Babubhai Savchand Shah corrected proofs of formats 26-30 (pp. 401-480) till the print order as my right eye was operated then. Moreover, having read the draft of the Content he made some suggestions. 3. Dr. Nagin J. Shah, Director of the L.D. Institute of Indology, translated my Gujarati Prastāvanā (Introduction) into English and allowed me to utilise the manuscripts in the Library of the Institute. 4. Shri Ratilal Dipchand Desai who repeatedly and strongly drove home the extreme need of carrying out the work of Jaina Agama Publication Series instituted by Shri Mahavira Jaina Vidyalaya expressed his wish to hear the draft of my Prastāvană, even though he was not keeping well. According to his wish, it was read out to him. On hearing it, he made some suggestions. This shows his affection for me and his interest in my work. 5. Incidentally, on the occasion of the marriage ceremony of my daughter, Dr. Bhogilal J. Sandesara, a close friend of mine and internationally renowned scholar, was my guest; at that time he read Gujarati Prastāvanā and made some suggestions. I express my gratefulness to these five scholars for extending their kind cooperation.
I express my heartfelt thanks to Shri J. R. Shah, Shri R. C. Kothari and Shri J. P. Shah, Hon. Secretaries of Shri Mahavira Jaina Vidyalaya, for their constant sincere efforts in accelerating the publication work. They have inspired me to undertake the work of critically editing the Āgama works. I congratulate them for their devotion to Scriptures.
By his inspiring warm letters Shri K. D. Kora (Director, Shri Mahavira Jaina Vidyalaya) has sustained my enthusiasm in the
