________________ Devchand Lalbhai Pustakodhar Fund, Series No. 5. PREFACE. POOடுடுடுடுசOOROCCOOOOOOO This treatise was written by Mahamahopadhyaya Shree Yashovijay. The very author has written a commentary upon the said work. This book was written in the '18th century of Vikrama erå.' It was written in the time of Shree Vijaysinhsuri, by whose preaching, the author of this work, Punyásh Shree Satyavijay, and Shree Bhojsågar and others, effected the revival of the ceremonies and the rites of the sacerdotal order of the religion, and created a new body of monks called "Samvegies." At that time one Benarasidas, who professed the "Digambar " belief of the Jainism, preached Digamber doctrines, under the guise of opinions and judgments conciliatory to both the sects of the faith. Further Amar Chandra Suri and Shree Prabha Chandra Suri, wrote a work in which they aimed at the 19 establishment of their own doctrines. In order to refute the preachings of Benarasidas, and the contents of the above-mentioned work, which the author considered as mis-guiding, according to his belief as a Swetâmber monk, he wrote this treatise.
