तीर्थ की प्रादि-प्रवर्तना करने वाले, चरम-अन्तिम । तीर्थंकर, पूर्व में हुए तीर्थंकरों द्वारा निर्दिष्ट और पूर्व में वर्णित समग्र गुणों से युक्त यावत् अपुनरावृत्ति-सिद्धिगति को प्राप्त करने की अभिलाषा करने वाले श्रमण भगवान महावीर को नमस्कार हो। यहां स्वर्ग में रहा हुआ में वहां -देवानंदा की कुक्षि में रहे हए भगवान् को वन्दन करता हूं। वहां रहे हुए भगवान् यहां रहे हुए मुझे देखें। इस प्रकार कहता हुआ देवराज इन्द्र, श्रमण भगवान महावीर को बन्दन करता है और नमस्कार । करता है। वन्दन और नमस्कार कर, अपने श्रेष्ठ सिंहासन पर पूर्व दिशा की ओर मुख करके बैठता है। १७. तत्पश्चात् उस शक्र देवेन्द्र-देवराज को हृदय में इस प्रकार का चिन्तनरूप, अभिलाषारूप, मनोगत संकल्प उत्पन्न होता है - "निश्चित रूप से अतीत में न कभी ऐसा हुआ है, वर्तमान में न कभी ऐसा होता है और न कभी भविष्य में ऐसा होगा । अरहन्त, चक्रवर्ती, बलदेव
और वासुदेव अन्त्यकुलों-हीनकुलों, प्रान्तकुलों-अधमकुलों, तुच्छकुलों, दरिद्रकुलों, कृपणकुलों, भिक्षुकभिखारियों के कुलों तथा माहण-ब्राह्मण कुलों में न कभी पाए हैं, न कभी आते हैं और न कभी आयेंगे। इस प्रकार निश्चय ही अरहंत,
