समय-समय पर ग्रासनादि को धूप दिखाते रहते हैं, समितियों का सावधानी से पालन करते हैं, पुनः पुनः प्रतिलेखना करते हैं और पुनः पुनः प्रमार्जना करते हैं, उनको उस उस प्रकार से संयम सुखाराध्य होता है।
२८२ वर्षावास में स्थित सामुयों और साध्वियों को शौच और लघुशंका के लिये तीन स्थानों की प्रतिलेखना करनी चाहिए। जिस प्रकार उन्हें वर्षा ऋतु में करने का होता है, उस प्रकार उन्हें हेमन्त ऋतु और ग्रीष्म ऋतु में करने का नहीं होता ।
प्रश्न- हे भगवन् ! ऐसा किस कारण से कहते हैं ? उत्तर- वर्षा ऋतु में प्राणधारी क्षुद्रजीव, तृरण, बीज, (फूल) और हरित ये सभी अधिकतर पुनः पुनः होते रहते हैं।
२८३. वर्षावास में स्थित श्रमरणों और श्रमणियों को निम्नोक्त तीन प्रकार के पात्रों को ग्रहण करना कल्पता है शौच के लिये, धूप के लिये और कफादि चूकले के लिये ।

२८४. वर्षावास में रहे हुए साधुयों श्रौर साध्वियों को मस्तक पर गाय के रोम जितने भी केश हों तो पर्युषरण अर्थात् प्राषाढ़ी चौमासी से पचासवें दिन की रात्रि का उल्लंघन करना नहीं कल्पता ।
But a monk who pays due attention to his mattress and his seatspread will find self-control easy to acquire.
282. During paryusana, monks and nuns should very carefully inspect the places where they go for easing nature. An extreme care is not necessary during winter or summer, but it is during rains. Why so? Because during rains living beings, grasses, seeds, fungi and sprouts multiply frequently.
283. During this season, monks must keep three pots with them: one for excreta, one for urine and one for sputum.
284. If before paryuşana, a monk (or a nun) has any hair on his head-even if it be as short as the hair on a cow's back-he should not let it grow after the night on which paryusana commences,
